    Unhappy Receding hair lines...

    Hey guys,

Do any of you have any experience with receding hair lines? My hair line is slowly but shirley moving further and further away from my face. Kind of like Lebron James except I am not a huge superstar athlete black guy with millions of dollars, so my hairline won't be as easily overlooked.

Any ways to combat this while I still can? Or is it a losing battle?

    Thanks!

There is something you can do before you lose your hair. Live dammit -- LIVE!

Yup, for me, my hair has migrated from my head to my chest, back and a$$.... you can stop it from happening - Rogain and other systems can help... but honestly, I am not sure it is worth the expense and effort.

Propecia (aka Finasteride) has definitely reversed my thinning hair. It took about a year of taking it to notice a big difference, but it's been holding steady for several years now.

I have friends who've had success with Rogain, but there are possible side effects. Not worth the risk for me. Just go with the new look. A very close-cropped cut usually looks best with receding hair.

My hair receded in my 30's into a widows peak look, but now it's been basically the same for the past 10 years or so. So there is hope that the receding will subside.

Is there anything, like bad habits, that accelerate hair loss unnecessarily? For example, I have really oily hair so I need to wash it everyday.

Unless you have a medical condition or a drug side effect causing hair loss, it's all genetics. Google is your friend for questions like that.

My hair has definitely begun doing the same thing. I tried Rogain for awhile. I am on my feet a lot at work and for some reason when I was using it I would come home and my feet were killing me. It took me awhile to figure out why, once I quit using it the soreness in my feet stopped. As others have said, cut your hair accordingly and avoid the comb over.

Propecia (finasteride) has some scary potential side effects. I've read too many stories about it ruining men's lives with side effects that don't go away after they stop taking it, including impotence and mental problems. Apparently intolerance to alcohol is a somewhat common side effect too.

Drinking Green Tea can exacerbate the problem, but I suspect that's not a factor for you.

Just shave it. Haven't bought shampoo in 12+ years.
Right on to the real, and death to the fakers. Peace out.

Just accept it. Go for the younger Bruce Willis... Get a pair of clippers and use the #4 all over your head and a #2 straight up the sides... look and many girls will love it.

I tried the Rogaine when I was dating after my divorce... but the women kept complaining about this extra hair that kept growing between their legs.

Mine isn't receding from the front (as much) but it's very, very thin and I've got a nice patch going on...for the last 6 or so months I've just taken the clippers to it and it looks so much better...
