Hi everyone,
I am sorry if this has been asked many times before. I have been cutting for a few months already and have gone from 220lbs and 20%+ BF down to 202lbs and 13% BF, without losing that much strength or muscle mass.
My avatar photo is from when i was 220lbs and 20%+ BF.
However i have been told that losing weight beyond around 13% and getting down to 8% is v v difficult.
My goal is to get down to 192lbs and 8% BF in time for a holiday abroad in April.
I am 6ft4 and my maintenance is 3000 calories. Therefore i usually Bulk on 3250 and cut on 2400 calories.
I am not doing ANY cardio currently, but i do lift for a solid 1 hour, 6 days per week.
Also, how many weeks would you say that this will take? I was thinking 8 weeks???
Lastly, my holiday is in 14 weeks time, if i have a few spare weeks after cutting, I don't want to put on any fat on in those weeks, but i would be nice to regain any little bits of strength that i lose during the cut.
Thanks in advance
Max

8 weeks would be reasonable or even 10 weeks with 1lb lost per week. I would recommend getting your hands on some BCAA's or HMB for when you are cutting so you lose minimal LBM and strength.

Opie, don't add anything into your mix. If you're losing - what's the problem? It seems like you're doing everything right, keep doing it and you'll get there.
If you add things like the guy above me said - things might change for you (negatively).
Just do what you're doing and don't overthink it.Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;

I can't speak to the single digit BF, but the 10 lbs is definitely doable. So if that puts you at 8% then I say go for it. If you have time left, then I suggest reverse dieting.
Was 280+ at the beginning of 2019 (highest recorded weight is 290 on Dec 13, 2018).

I know what they are. It just doesn't make sense telling a guy to do extra stuff when he's doing just fine doing what he's doing. Why are you trying to overcomplicate things for him?
He never did mention he's stuck or needs assistance getting to where he needs to be. He's already doing a good job at that.
Good luck.Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
