    Strange knee pain

    Hello,

This isn't my first occurrence of knee pain. I'm a veteran of 3 knee surveys, after the previous injuries I felt a "pop" in each of them and pretty well knew something wasn't right.

Yesterday after a successful squat session and C&J section where everything went great. No pain, very loose and strong the entire session. After my final clean and jerk at 125k, after I had dropped the weight, I felt a sharp pain in my right knee. The pain occurred to the inside of my knee cap and was pretty chirp and sudden. I'd never felt something like it before so I tried to massage it but that didn't do much.

Fastforward to today and its pretty stiff and feels slightly swollen. Walking up stairs doesn't hurt and walking down stairs is reasonably painless as well. Pain occurs randomly while walking around/doing basically anything but sitting. I also feel tightness in the back of my knee (probably from swelling).

Any other OL'ers every experienced something like this?

Ive had this happen yes, I don't know what caused it but it usually goes away in a day or two. I recently started using knee sleeves when lifting and it has reduced any pain/frequency of those type of injuries

That's good to hear. I'm on day two and it seems to be improving.

I too started wearing knee sleeves and they've helped me quite a bit as well. I think its the warmth that aids my knees the most.

Im relatively new to oly lifting but starting out for me was pretty brutal. Id sometimes have to wait a full week before me knees were up to being able to do full depth squats again. Since ive started with knee sleaves they barely even hurt the next day so im pretty happy with whatever they are doing to my knees.

Well I finally got the verdict and it was semi-my worst fear. It is a partially torn quad. Doc advised taking it as a warning shot so I plan on doing just that. At the sight of bruising I was pretty sure something had torn in there. Looks like I'm going to be moving away from the C&J and focusing exclusively on squatting with some power cleans and possibly clean pull mixed in.
