A suggestion would be to use peanut butter and bananas both help mask the taste alot (especially for spirulina) and are pretty healthy.
I typically do a 1000 calorie power smoothie every morning after I swim and workout

My go-to every morning is leafy greens with a few baby carrots, a small handful of blueberries and/or a few blackberries (put in too many and the seeds are annoying), and a banana. For greens I usually go to Costco and get the big bags of "Power Greens" they sell (blend of spinach, kale, and chard).
Taste is really good even without a lot of sweet fruit. Calories are mostly just the banana. The rest is pretty negligible.

So that ^ post was from 5/1.
high blood pressure runs in my family (dads side).
Anything less than 120/80 is considered perfect, and I NEVER see numbers hanging below 120/80 unless I'm doing these smoothies consistently.
the last time I saw less than 120/80 was when I was doing these smoothies every day a couple years ago. Without drinking them I will consistently see my systolic reading well over 140 almost 100% of the time.
No other variables have changed, really. I still eat pizza, ice cream, cookies, etc.
I've just replaced one meal per day with these smoothies...
blood pressure readings in order (first one is 4/29). I don't test every single day, but every 1-5 days I will test it.
- 153/83 (taken 4/29, not drinking any smoothies)
- 134/86
- 136/85
- 142/84
- 128/76
- 133/79
- 124/77
- 139/80
- 131/69
- 127/74
- 119/75 (taken 5/22, 3 weeks of smoothies)
- 119/77 (taken 5/23)
EDIT: thinking about aiming for 110/70 as my next goal. Not sure if possible.Last edited by HMFIC_BROWSIN; 05-23-2018 at 07:01 AM.

I said it earlier in the thread already, but my cholesterol lowered. Don't remember the numbers, but I was borderline once when I had a physical, and a year later when I had another one it had lowered enough to where my doctor asked me what I was doing. And I don't even drink one every day...
"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

No I just do banana, strawberry, spinach, chia seeds, and natty peanut butter. Nothing crazy. Everything super cheap and available at the store.
Yeah it's awesome. with my regular numbers a doctor would have prescribed medication. I refuse to take anything, so these smoothies will have to do. I just need to keep drinking them all year. I tend to stop making them in the winter.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

I recommend putting Kefir in. For those that haven't heard of it look it up. It can be pretty expensive to buy if you use it every day but you can cultivate your own at home to make it a lot cheaper. Aside from the great benefits it has, it's helped vastly reduce the amount of horrific smelling gas I was emitting every day due to the shakes.

2 handfuls of Kale
Half a Banana
Half a Avacado
Handful of Blueberries
Handful of Carrots
Usually my go too, keeping anymore fresh produce than this gets way too expensive. Anything you guys add to you're shake that really made a difference in how you feel? I agree above with making this with kefir, give it time 2-3 weeks and get the low sugar version. But it really helps improve digestion, regularity and mood surprisingly. I can eat foods like pizza and chipotle that would usually cause some serious bloating and gas but it's non existent nowHeat,Dolphins

Haven't read the thread to know if anyone does this, but I can confirm, homemade Kefir is the GOAT. I usually make kefir every day and add a few blueberries or blend it with bananas or strawberries.
For vegetables I use a juicer. Mostly celery and ginger root, but I add carrots/cabbage/cucumber, sometimes spinach/kale/parsley and rarerly strawberry/orange/papaya. But I would recommend adding apple to make it taste good.
I skip the smoothies and high calorie shakes for health reasons. Otherwise I would use flax seed blended into all of my shakes.

blood pressure study continued.
Yesterday (5/29) I did not have a smoothie, today (5/30) my blood pressure is sitting @ 134/91.
The two preceding days when I did have them, I tested @ 124/78, and 121/79.
It's crazy to see both systolic and diastolic readings jump 10 points on one day off the smoothies. My blood pressure is truly in my hands as far as controling it. I don't use any medication so being consistent with these veggie shakes is very important.
I guess these smoothies just need to become a life long breakfast without alternatives.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.
