If muscle tissue is just your body adapting to stress

If muscle tissue is just your body adapting to stress and it seems like muscle tissue is the warmest tissue, why can't I just put a progressively larger ice cube on my ass to get great glutes?

I really want those slootly glutes

But like srsly, since I got more muscle and fat tissue I can finally step out in the "cold" and not hate life. Even just n00b gains helped tons. Another reason all those fitness beckies should put on some muscle, they can stop hating the cold so much.

LBM helps some, but really fat is what keeps you warm. Even at higher weights, I'm colder when lean. BP is usually pretty low, pulse is slow, no fat for insulation - it all means coldness.

+1 swimmers perform some of the highest volumes of exercise, and some of the most intense, yet many female swimmers are far from lean. Some studies link regular exposure to low temperatures to increased appetite and fat storage hormones.

But then again, if you just stay sufficiently cold all the time--like those on Antarctic expeditions--you can burn tremendous numbers of calories daily, like 10,000.

So applying ice = no. Going to the Antarctic with inadequate gear and supplies = yes but you will not enjoy it.

Interesting theory, Alex. It's a stress and time equation. Like with certain things, certain parts of yourself are either magnified or minified depending on the area. No penis jokes please. Anything in your mouth suck as your teeth may feel very different with say braces on and they'll feel huge, but your tongue manages to magnify the size of each metal band, assuming I understand what braces actually happen to be in this case. Because I really don't know.

Likewise I imagine that a lot of weight lifters may think their glutes are underdeveloped but they might just be normal or overdeveloped when compared to the average person who's relatively athletic (see not a slob). When I weighed like 150 a few years ago, it was very uncomfortable for me during the winter after having been overweight for a few years outside of high school. For one I remember being able to sit down and wiggle around with my tailbone hitting each cheek. I was also often cold and because my BP and pulse slowed down, even though in my case I had plenty of fat to be 'healthy', it caused me to feel even colder than I normally would have been. E.G. At 73F it was cold for me. 38 Winter mornings? GTFO.

    Speculating here.

Other than insulation, fat may be correlated, but not the direct cause. BP and pulse being low is a result of your body adapting to a low cal diet.

    Speculating here.

Other than insulation, fat may be correlated, but not the direct cause. BP and pulse being low is a result of your body adapting to a low cal diet.
Not sure, tbh. I assume insulation is actually real from my own experiences, because I don't think pulse and BP would drastically affect temperature as long as it remains within certain ranges. Obviously the extremes will have a more significant effect. Regardless, fat creates more skin contact which does create greater heat. There are certain areas on your body which get a large increase in contact area when you grow (back/arm area where you essentially increase your armpit by a large amount, legs). I imagine a similar effect if you get fatter which confound the effects of insulation.

This is how we overanaylze, lol.

Looks good, nh. The only issue is you may end up finding pants that fit real well but your butt drags them down in the back, as in there's not enough material for the waist to be level. USE THE 60s!
