He started a new channel under his name, and said he was going to keep the PTW channel "professional" and he was just going to YOLO it on his name sake channel. He has a couple vids that remind me of when I use to watch Hulse a year or so ago.

Someone link to the new powerlifting to win channel? That was probably one of the best lifting related things on youtube I thought.

Fawk you brah, I'm rooting for the Saints to come into the playoffs at 6-10 and become champions of the wolrd!
Yea I just watched it cuz it was an action movie with Denzel and knew he'd be the typical bad ass regardless of how sh!tty the plot was. Was worth watching for free.1372 @ 205

I don't know man, when you're bringing down a 600lbs+ bench, your arch is set and you're loading up the collar perfectly, the bar touches your chest and then rockets back up to lockout, it makes sense then.
You get the same thing with single ply, just with less weight, so it's less cool. It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

I'm a fan of Nolan, and let me say I enjoyed Interstellar. I'm also a fan of picking things apart, so let me bring up a few issues.
[HERE ABIDE SPOILERS]
Obviously, in the science fiction genre, everything that happens doesn't actually have to make scientific sense (thus the fiction), but some effort has to be made to have the pretense of things functioning in a scientific manner. So, a few points where the movie didn't quite add up:
1. Cooper gets sucked into the black hole. He finds himself in some strange, multidimensional space in which time is spatial. We're good so far. Then, his robot tells him that these multidimensional future beings are closing the tesseract, and he is spit out of the black hole. But when he is spit out, he does NOT come out of the black hole, but instead comes out of the worm hole, next to Saturn.
2. I don't get Mann's (Matt Damon's character) motivation. We discover two things about his character that don't add up. The first thing we find out is that he always knew Plan B was the ultimate goal. He didn't ever expect that he'd start a wonderful colony on another planet. The best-case scenario is that he will get some embryos hatching. This is a FAR bleaker prognosis that what we had thought the mission was, yet he willingly took it, sacrificing his life for humanity. The second revelation is that he didn't really care that his planet wasn't survivable, and just wanted to get picked up from the planet so he faked the signals, and is willing to kill the crew. Unless he suddenly switched personalities, this motivation doesn't quite cut it for me. He sent the 'thumbs up' signal from the get-go, which necessitated him chickening out very early on.
3. Lastly, the most obvious glitch is the crazy solution to a simple problem. Crops are failing, but we have awesome science. Two options:
A. Let’s use this awesome science to go through a wormhole, and try to have humanity survive on some marginally habitable planet that may only have the distant possibility of sustaining life. (Furthermore, are we bringing our diseased crops with us, or hoping that there will be edible plant life on these planets? They always speak of just needing water and a decent climate, but if humanity doesn't want to bring the problem with them, it really needs to start over with a different breed of plant it would seem.)
B. Like we have for decades, genetically alter the crops to be more sustainable and resist whatever disease is killing them. Or, a thousand other technological solutions that don't involve starting over in another galaxy.
I'd choose B.
But like I said, I enjoy being nitpicky. I didn't dislike the movie at all. It was one of the best flicks I've seen in a long time.Last edited by breathinglife; 12-17-2014 at 10:17 AM.

agree strongly on #3 ^^^ I wish they would've used a different motive to necessitate the move to another planet.

2. he sent the OK signal because he knew if he did a ship would swing by and that it could save him. he was probably optimistic at first when he started the mission that that planet could be potentially habitable, but upon exploring he realized it wasnt. the hopelessness, loneliness and general despair and misery drove him stir/cabin crazy.
3. in the fictional universe, they simply determined that the earth was a lost cause so they used advanced physics to build a habitable starship (which is an actual scientific concept)

I feel like they might have mixed up the ideas of blackholes and wormholes. But then they had a famous theoretical physicist on their production team so maybe it's the physics that I don't understand.
Edit: or maybe Cooper thinks it is a black hole, but it turns out to be a worm hole. Since the entrance of a wormhole could technically be a blackhole?
I should have read up on some relativity and wormhole stuff before watching it lol.Last edited by martin_mathers; 12-17-2014 at 11:19 AM.

No, obviously I understand Mann gave the signal so someone would pick him up. He just wimped out far too quickly / easily for someone who would have committed to such a bleak mission. It's not that it doesn't make any sense--just that it doesn't seem quite a viable way of functioning.
And yes, in the end, they did decide against moving to another planet. But still, I don't understand why the starship worked better than earth. Why did it have to be in space? Why not build that exact same enclosure, and grow all the nice plants, but not launch it all the way to Saturn? Much easier. It doesn't NEED to be in space. It just seems cooler that way. Any spores/bacteria/etc. that the humans could bring to a sealed, earth bound enclosure would present the same problem in space.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.
