we only talk about it because the comics basically dictate what happens to the show. maybe not the smaller plot elements and characters, but in the grand scheme of things the story's progression is the same.

if there's a harry potter movie thread, people will bring up the books. if there's an LOTR movie thread, people will discuss the books. even in the case of superhero movies, people will discuss the comics. this is only because in each case, the source material is highly relevant.

lotr and harry potter are movies, these are episodes of a TV series which are on every week and something is always happening/developing. just like in the comics too. it's unecessary to talk about them both when there are clearly different things going on lately

I'm sayin it was bizzare for them to build it up in such a manner then kill her off suddenly. Pretty obvious I wasn't talking about them just ending it out of nowhere.

Not really. If they just kill off a small character then nobody cares. So they have to do some character development and then kill them off so the viewer has some emotional attachment. Same chit with Bob. Was just some alcoholic then had some redeeming qualities. Create a love interest with Sasha so when he inevitably dies someone would be deeply crushed. They did the same with Daryl and Beth though obviously they developed Beth's character a bit more.


As for Rick becoming like Shane that's not quite true. Shane seemingly lacked any moral compass and was ruthless in his quest for survival. Rick gives people chances(for redemption). Told the cop to stop running but he didn't so essentially he chose his own fate.


We were already told Dawn wouldn't just allow a straight trade since she'd lose face and her ego wouldn't allow that. She had to win somehow. Dat dere strong independent woman. And Beth fell to that same trait too. Couldn't let Dawn win so she had to stab her in the shoulder. She had to 'win' somehow too. Could have stabbed her in the neck for fatal blow but that's out of character. And it's better to let the person live yet know you got one over on them and also left a scar as she had done on Beth. So in the end their pettiness and hatred for one another caused each of their demises.

But this storyline does suck now with no apparent endgame. So just have people trying to survive. That may work for comics but not for tv shows as you need some sort of development and conclusion. Otherwise the show can just end with everyone dying. Inb4 that's the point. We all die no matter what and without society then what's the point in life? Stupid existentialism crap. Or maybe Rick is just in a coma dreaming all this up and none of this really happened just like the crappy Lost ending.

I'd rather see something stupid like a religious arc. This is the rapture and all the people left behind are stuck in purgatory. To gain redemption and entry into heaven will depend on how they treat their fellow man. Those who die and treated others righteously can ascend into heaven. Others get trapped as zombies or maybe they are reincarnated back into this hell until they redeem themselves. And thus Judith is Lori reincarnated or some chit. Hope the writers have some end point or purpose figured out but judging how comics are they may not. They may just have the let's introduce a conflict and resolution and repeat ad nauseam.

If the show were to take a "religious" turn like that, I would for one never watch again. What you are proposing is completely unoriginal, dull, and righteous. This show is about human nature, which is what makes the interesting parts interesting. It's not about religious ideologies.

Just like Bob dying as a result of them not going back to kill off the remaining terminites. Rick has finally turned on the "can't trust those we don't know, gotta protect our own" stance, and the rest of the group is still hung up on moral execution, even with people who have already proven themselves to be potentially dangerous and threatening.

So what's the deal with the end of the show where Morgan was standing over the zombie girl. Not sure if this is a big deal but the zombie had blue eyes which i thought all zombies had bloodshot eyes. Just thought it was interesting that they took the point to show the zombie which otherwise didn't mean anything.

Meh. He seems to have found a bit of a balance. For group work he is still somewhat open to voting on a plan. But if its just him, he'll kill someone if need be and bother trying to bring them back and vote on what to do like he did with that kid he found in the city during the farm season. The only exception might be if he feels the group actions are in conflict with protecting coral reef or the crying burrito. For the most part though he seems to be dealing with that by just leaving them in a safe(ish) place while he goes out to do various shenanigans.

Lol at the writers creating the plot device of that cops gun getting kicked down the elevator shaft. We all know that Beth as the heiress of the Hershel family unlimited ammo technique would have just shot her way out of the hospital and the city if she had got her hands on that gun, without reloading once. All kills would've have been head shots as well...I guess that doesn't make interesting TV though.

The question is now that Beth has gone, will that family technique die with her and Hershel? Maggie hasn't shown that she has the "gift" before?
