I really enjoyed the first season of Marco Polo on Netflix this year. It was quite good. I have also gotten all caught up on The League thanks to Netflix. That show is addictive.

The Men Who Built America
Really enjoying this and Mrs, B likes it well. Jr. B says they been playing it in his SS class. Really well shot, beautiful on a crisp big screen TV.
I'm not a huge history buff but I know enough to recognize some artistic liberties were taken for the sake of the story, still great stuff.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

We checked out a series called Crossing Lines last night.
Watched the first two episodes which are a part 1 & 2 of the pilot.
Premise: a team in Europe is put together to get bad guys that have crossed European borders.
The acting/actors worked and it was fast paced enough to hold our interest.
We'll see if it holds up for the remaining 20 episodes....we'll see.
If the genre grabs you I'd recommend giving it a shot.
Carry on....
EDIT: currently waiting to see if Flash and Librarians will hold our interest.
I'm hoping my preconception of them being too simplistic is inaccurate.Last edited by Wayne Evans; 01-27-2015 at 07:20 AM.

A slight diversion....Arrow fans....
We just checked out another series (on E4 now) to determine it's worthiness being Beauty And The Beast.
With that title I immediately had my male (negative) presumptions until reading the info then we gave it a look.
So far....it's entertaining enough.
And NO...it's not any pablum, sappy love story series. (no offense ladies )
On a side note....I just saw this regarding Steve Amell of Arrow: http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/...50211/b624598/
I thought it was pretty generous gesture for him to actually follow-up in the manner he did....respectable deed.
Plus, based on some inferences in previous posts, the article gives the ladies an opportunity to continue drooling.
Yes...I'm waiting for S3 to hit the NetFlix line up.
Carry on....Last edited by Wayne Evans; 02-11-2015 at 03:09 PM.

Prior to moving in with and remarrying my ex- I haven't had television in several years so I am watching varying series one show after another. I just finished watching the Netflix series 'Marco Polo' and was disappointed there wasn't a season two. Before that I watched 'American Horror Story' season one and maybe all of two but then lost interest. I"ll go back through this thread for suggestions.

I did want to check that one out but I still don't see it on the Netflix choices.
Hmmm...I just thought that maybe it's not actually listed and I just need to do a search.
They have quite a body of work and to see the documented up/downs is always of interest to me.
(EDIT: just found it)
Vietnam HD:
If one likes war history and you were a Soldier one might want to give it a chance.
I did watch the series prior to it hitting NetFlix....but, to my dismay, no USMC activities.
Carry on....
(EDIT: Oh shvt....I just realized I went on to comment on movies rather than sticking with TV series so I copy/pasted my reviews into the Movie Reviews thread...I'm daft sometimes.)Last edited by Wayne Evans; 02-20-2015 at 03:58 PM.

Yeah I ordered The Eagles Live CD's that I used to have years and years ago. I'm looking forward to listening to them knowing the backstory.
Bloodline
1 season of 13 episodes on Netflix. Follows a family from the Florida Keys that runs an inn. Each member of the family has ghosts in the closet and the oldest has a pretty dark darkside. Sissy Spacek plays the Mom and she's great, the rest are unknowns but can act. At times it's a little like a Soap Opera but a good story and does a nice job creating suspense with flashbacks and glimpses into the future. Not gonna hold my breath for a second season, but I enjoyed this first one.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

We're about finished with 'DareDevil' being season one with a total (13) episodes.
We have (3) episodes to finish tonight for season (1) and we've both found it entertaining thus far.
They also are 52 minutes vs. 42 minutes with other series entries.
Story line is obvious....one man trying to clean up Hell's Kitchen one bad guy at a time.
Atmospherically, slightly dark but subtle enough to not lose my interest.
Cast works for me and the pace makes each episode go pretty quickly.
Vincent DeOnofrio (spelling likely incorrect) plays an acceptable antagonist.
Scott Glen shows up at about episode (7) or so.....not going to tell you his role.
If one likes this sort of Marvel action I'd suggest giving it a try.
I would hope it fares well enough with the critics/producers to have subsequent seasons.
A great weekend to all....
(EDIT: I watched the Eagles one also and found it very enjoyable and informative.)Last edited by Wayne Evans; 04-17-2015 at 08:01 AM.

My youngest son and I were really excited for this to start (both love Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) but we failed to get into the first episode. I found the first victim (the girl with the blood and knife) so boring and stilted I just couldn't keep watching. Not enough action. Should I force it through? Does it get better?

Howdy Marie.....
I find the occasional 'boring and stilted' aspects occur even in the ones I currently like.
It's also easy for me to lose my viewing interest if the first episode doesn't grab me right away.
I think the 'action' does pick up as the story line and characters are developing.
But....I'll take a risk and suggest viewing a few more episodes before you totally give up on it.
What I had to get beyond is how he could navigate so well in the city and being blind.....totally implausible to me, but I gave it chance.
Well....that question is reconciled at about episode (9) or so.
If you did view a few more episodes and determined I've totally wasted your time you'll have my permission to bludgeon me severely about head and shoulders with a wet noodle.
Yep....us too.
We're awaiting next seasons of Agents Of Shield, Arrow, Black List and I think a couple others.
Thanks for chiming in....carry on.USMC: 1965-1969

Just thought I'd throw this out for anyone that may be interested.
While checking online news I saw this link regarding what TV series/shows are going to be renewed for the 2015 season.
There's (86) of them so that should cover a diversity of viewing interests.
NetFlix interest for me currently is Arrow, Blacklist and my better half will like that Beauty & The Beast is renewed....I'm not so enamored with it.
http://xfinity.comcast.net/slideshow...dshows2015/15/
The ones I may check out are:
Grimm?
Legends?
Scorpion?
Flash?...I've read not so great reviews of this one but I'd listen to comments here.
Librarians?....I'd like to think this one may have some probationary interest potential but I get the impression the intrigue would be too simplistic with silly dialogue.
(But...I've been wrong in the past)
A good day to all....time for some food.

I enjoy the story of Orange is the new black but the only time I watch Netflix is on the treadmill at the gym and too often the sex scene pops up with people around. Weeds lost me after about 10 episodes seemed all to be the same
House of cards is also predictable but am watching episode 39 right now so I'm too invested to give up. I'll finish it off.
