Yep....the wifster and I watched it last night.
I think he produced it too if I recall the credits correctly.
We liked it and enjoyed the more intimate dialogue from Sly.
He has one hell of a body of work especially when considering the (3) movie franchise efforts.

Totally missed this one when it came out in 2017 (on NBC.) Same universe as True Blood so it has a bunch of supernatural stuff ofc, which I like. Not quite as good as True blood and probably much lower budget, but it's decent. A few episodes in and like it. Still waiting for so-tex to make a guest appearance.

Finally another decent Netflix film "Leave the World Behind." Stars Julia Roberts who is aging naturally. I applaud her for that decision, but I would applaud her having work done as well, I'm more about the acting.

Unfortunately, it's not one of Julia's best, she's eclipsed by every other actor.

Doomsday scenario, they're at an air BnB on the coast of Long Island when chit goes down.

Great scenery, hard to say more more without giving away the plot. Was done during the pandemic, but that's not mentioned which makes it a little chilling.

Watched Rebel Moon part 1 last night.

Absolutely unoriginal and predictable, but if you like Star Wars, Dune, and Akira Kurosawa films, you'll love this one. Special effects are really well done, especially for a modest budget film.

We gave it a viewing night before last.

TBH....I wasn't fond of a couple of the cast actors.
They just weren't convincing to me but I thought it was OK generally speaking and would recommend checking it out if I were asked.

Agreed, the SFX were very good so that's mainly what kept my interest and will likely get me to check out #2 when it rears it's head.

It was originally written to be a Star Wars universe film, but Disney dropped it during production, and the producer decided to run with it on his own. Got Netflix to pick it up instead.

He intends to market the franchise as a video game, which is currently in production. That's where the real money lies.

Howdy weed hoppers....

I like Henry Cavil as an actor so we decided to give The Witcher a try.
It has (3) seasons so thought it might be a good winter binge evening.

Got through (2) episodes and after starting episode (3) we shut it down.
The CGI concepts were good, Henry & other characters I had no problem with.
Having an uneven mix of action/CGI and the basic drama It just got way to slow.

I've been a bit MIA so hope all are doing well.
Keep your snow shovels handy!
