Not sure I agree with you there, but I liked the show and watched the whole thing. It was a frequent topic of the Tony Kornheiser podcast, of which I've been a regular listener for 20 years, and I kinda felt obligated to watch it.
I wish more shows would be set before the computer age. The magic computer guy is a device that bugs me.

Domina - Season 1
Came across this random find (not netflix, some other network, SKY?) and just watched the first episode. Like it so far and it's pretty brutal and gory at times. Has one of the actors from GOT. It's about the time after the murder of Julius Ceasar and the power struggles between various actors. Centers around Augustus's future wife, Livia, from teenage years and forward. Sharing link to a streaming site with the episodes...so if your against some ads and that stuff maybe don't click.

Ok not a Netflix series but an Amazon Prime series.
The Boys.
Alternate world in which superheroes are the norm and are handled as a business. The superheroes put up a front of being wholesome and good role models that want to save the world but in reality are spoiled brats and douchebags. Some people want the whole superhero thing to end using any means necessary to kill the superheroes and bring down the corporation.
I LOVE IT! The humor is really sick, think Breaking Bad or Pulp Fiction, so right up my alley. The cast is perfect and the acting is awesome. My husband and I were watching the 1st episode and there's a scene when you first meet a certain superhero. The character in question did nothing but walk into the room and both my husband and I said "That guy's a cawk". That's how you know the acting is good.
It's as far from family entertainment as it gets, be warned.
I'm on season 2 and still kicking myself for not watching it sooner.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:

Arcane is an amazing animated series, more on the adult side, made by riot games (league of legends etc) that really seemed to knock this one out of the park and set a new standard. Compelling stories, interesting characters and great music by Sting and other big artists. A bit brutal and bloody at times so not really meant for any smaller kids I should think.
2 of the many good soundtracks:
Speaking of tv-shows: almost done watching the old star trek season 2 from 1968. It's actually growing on me.

The Last Dance
Netflix Mini-Series about Michael Jordan, 10 episodes.
I've never been a pro Basketball fan, but this really opened my eyes. MJ had eyes on him all the time and different pressures but was always a rockstar on the court. I learned a lot about the Chicago Bulls and the players and the relationship dynamics. Always hated the sight of Dennis Rodman but now I have a certain respect for him. Always thought Scotty Pipman looked fragile and made of glass - wrong.
This was really well done with all kinds of locker room/hotel room footage. In 10 hours there is absolutely nothing about his home or family life, only a couple minutes of his kids talking, we never meet his wife. I'm sure that's per his wishes.
This guy is no saint and I couldn't imagine being on a team with him, but this is well worth the 10 hour investment.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

We tried one a couple weeks ago called "Locke & Key"
Mostly unknowns (to me) in the cast but we stuck with the first couple of episodes and ended up watching S1 & S2 back to back.
There's always some aspect of these shows that might not measure up from episode to episode but we found this one interesting enough.
There will be a S3 which must mean it has some favorable opinions.
If one likes a mystery/thriller/sci-fi sort of genre I'd recommend giving it a try:

Watched a season and it just got too weird for me.
On Amazon Prime: Goliath
Billy Bob Thornton is a lawyer, used to be a hotshot but he drinks a lot and lives in a hotel now, though he still practices law. I like it because I like Billy Bob and the cast of characters, Wife is not a fan.
I just finished season 2 where he's dealing with a Mexican cartel member, there's a few episodes and one particular scene that's probably the most disturbing and brilliant scene I have even seen on a screen. I can't say much without giving it away but the cartel member is an "Amatuer Surgeon."Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Yeah....it's a bit 'weird'....but:
The story line is a very novel concept which I enjoyed and I didn't find any of the actors too off putting.
For me, that aspect will frequently determine whether a show deserves my viewing time or not.
I tried "The Witcher' for a couple of episodes but there was just something underwhelming about (even though I like Henry Cavill) it so I didn't continue.

Watched Hemlock Grove (2013-15), 3 seasons. I like these supernatural ones and this has some vampire/werewolf stuff around it. I give it 3.5/5, but if you don't like that genre, it's probably not worth watching. Missed it when came out and got my interest since it had one of the Skarsgård family actors in it, the youngest brother I think, Bill Skarsgård (played the clown in "IT"). His older brother, Gustaf, played Floki in Vikings etc, and oldest brother Alexander was in True Blood, a Tarzan movie and more. Their father has a long list of hollywood movies as well.

Haven't seen anything lately with Alexander, but came across this trailer for a Viking movie coming next year with him in it. Looks preety cool. Other big names in it as well like Nicole Kidman, William Dafoe, and Ethan Hawke.

The Northman looks awesome Steffo! Can't wait for that to come out. The series Vikings was one of my favorite shows to watch and and really haven't found any viking movies or series to match it but this looks promising!

Best as always to not expect too much, but being from where I'm from and very interested in history etc, I hope it turns out well. The one place I hope I can afford (one of the most expensive places in the world inside the city walls) one day is to have a home-base is Visby, Gotland (island off the east coast). Old Viking trading town and was the richest place in Europe at the time I think - still have much preserved in the small city from the 11-12th century at least. Went there for vacation last year and fell in love with it.
Edit: Was looking for Ethan Hawke and took me awhile to recognize him in that beard, lol.Last edited by steffo99; 12-23-2021 at 10:19 AM.

I did a quick google search of Visby, Gotland and it's beautiful! As far as Vikings are concerned I had a co-worker who went to Iceland a few years back and she said it was fantastic. I don't know though. It looks pretty barren. I'm sure there are spectacular sights and colors (Northern Lights) though!

"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

This is on HBO max:
Euphoria
If you liked Less than Zero back in the day you might enjoy some elements of this. It's very disturbing to someone our age, to be perfectly honest I wish I never watched a single episode, I'm on season 2 now.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
