Just finished Season 1 of Ozark as well. Excellent show. Completely messed up topic but they manage to make it plausible and the acting is really good.

Just a formula, Breaking Bad worked so this will work.

Interesting. I may have to reactivate Netflix to check it out. I watched the first one and was just about convinced that he was innocent, but getting away from the show and thinking about it, I'm pretty sure he's guilty. Still a travesty what they did with the nephew, even if he was involved. I'm from Wisconsin and those people talk like my relatives.

I also lived in the Ozarks. I checked out Ozark. Meh. Didn't do anything for me. Kinda trite.

Not sure if it's on netflix but we started watching Burn Notice on amazon prime. It's a spy-type show that ran about 7 years. We're on season 5. We enjoy it.

far from as riveting as the OG season, but still good, dragged out at times imo.

I'm 3 or 4 episodes into Daredevil season 3... kind of meh, sadly

    The Haunting of Hill House

I am partial to horror series, in particular American Horror Story, but for some reason this one had passed under my radar. But at work everybody was raving about it, so I had to check it out, and I can confirm, it's worth watching. It's a classic haunting and ghosts story, good psychological horror without too much need for special effects and buckets of gore. It doesn't have AHS dark humor or twisted stuff, but it has very good atmosphere and creep factor.
I will never say "awww look at the cute kitten" again.

Watched The Sinner. When we first watched it, we didn't even get through the first episode because we figured it was so predictable. Kind of a roll-eyes we know where this is going, type of thing.

But then we saw that on Rotten Tomatoes, every review kept saying it was "unpredictable" even right to the end. So we gave it another go. I am glad we did. It was good. Some groce creepy parts, but otherwise good. Jessica Biel is great.

    Would recommend.

Netflix is knocking it out of the park with originals lately:

14 Cameras Landlord streams cameras on the "dark web" think "sliver" mixed with "black mirror" and you're close, super creepy and edge of seat stuff. Listing this first as it's top choice viewing, though slow at times.

Children of Men A women gets pregnant in a dystopian future where humans have been unable to reproduce for 18 years, crazy violence, great action and you'll probably cry.

The Ritual Basically "Blair Witch" for a group of Men on a hiking trip, but delivers thrills and well acted.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

    "You"

A stalker meets a girl he wants and will do anything to get her. If you can get past the actor speaking his thoughts as part of the storyline this is pretty good so far, pretty gritty.

Just finished The Chalet. A group of friends convene at a chalet in France for a weekend wedding, but the only bridge in and out of town is wiped out from a rockslide (no telephone service) and then people are slowly killed off. Sounds like a typical slasher thing, but it's not - quite good, deals with a 20-year old mystery and revenge. 6 episodes, 1 season only.

Also watched Bad Blood (with Anthony LaPaglia and Kim Coates) which is about the Rizzuto crime family in Montreal. Pretty good mobster show. Looking forward to the next season.

For the unaware this is a documentary about a failed luxury music festival, I've been interested in this story since it came on the news. The whole thing was basically hyped by "Instagram Influencers" and one of the Kardashians was wired $250k to post about it ONE time on her IG. Very interesting modern day hustle gone wrong story.

Netflix is moving into a lot more original content and original series, I remember the days of getting there dvd's in the mail only to mail them back in a couple days, seems kind of charming now, at any rate....

    The Life of Spock

I'm a trekkie so LOVED it, if you're not a trekkie it's a good success story with the bad and good. For example when he was shooting he would basically stay in character over the weekend, distant and cold. Gotta watch.

I liked Stranger Things. Wasn't sure after the first episode, decided to watch one more. Think by episode 3, I was committed to watching the whole thing.

The second season of The OA is finally out on Netflix. I know it's been referenced ITT before but I can't find it. I'm 2 episodes in and budget was way lower for season 2 IMO. I'm thinking of going back and watching season 1 again before I get any farther, I think they may have missed the mark by waiting so long to release season 2.

I recommend Burn Notice (7 seasons). It's on Amazon Prime but not sure about Netflix. It's about a former spy. Good show.

Yes...we liked it also and watched it when the whole series was on NetFlix.
So much so that we felt it worthy of purchasing the DVD series a few years ago.
I'd recommend giving it a chance.

''Selling Sunset.'' It's a show about the Oppenheim Real Estate group in CA. Everyone is shallow, and trying to one up each other. But, the million dollar homes in CA are hnnng

It's sort of like watching the Kardashians, if they all started selling real estate. It's my guilty pleasure, right now.

It's not brand new, but UNSOLVED about Tupac and Biggie is pretty fantastic.

10 episodes, but they hook you in episode 1 if you even sort of have interest in what really happened back in the mid 1990's

    Acting, pacing, music, all 9/10.

We are watching OA season 2 at the moment, I agree its just a much lower quality production. Not sure what episode it is but when an octopus telepathically talks to an audience in a nightclub through Prairie/Nina/the Original Angel that I lost it..... Not sure I can watch anymore

Admittedly, I'm not easily impressed and my wife is not nearly as critical. (painfully obvious as she married me )

We signed up for Netflix about a year ago and I thought I'd peruse Netflix for some that may have interest potential solely because of no commercials.
To my surprise, I found a few worth checking out that I thought Cindy would enjoy also being action, good guy/bad guy, fantasy genres.

Here's a few that we've been enjoying together:
Burn Notice: I liked it and we finished watching that one some weeks ago. Cindy liked it enough to purchase the series. (I take the blame)
Numb3rs: It was OK even though I got weary of Charlie getting too verbose with his over the top expertise (part of the show's premise/emphasis) too often and wasn't totally
enamored with all characters. The pace of the show kept me interested enough although not quite as enjoyable as Burn Notice.
Once Upon A Time: we'll be watching the last two episodes of season 3 tonight. The filming technique confused me at times but Cindy really liked it so that was good enough for me.
Arrow: season one kept my interest pretty well and season two we'll start next as we just got the email it's on now.

One's that are in queue next for us to try:
    Blacklist
    Leverage
Agents Of Shield looks like it could be entertaining enough to check out when Neflix offers it.
I know nothing of these three but only heard they were pretty good.
I see no others offered at this time that are grabbing me.

Oh....I did try Dexter some time ago but it just didn't keep me interested.

Even though I may find a few criticisms here and there the real pay-off is just spending some relaxation time with the wifster after her hard day's work and dinner. (I'm retired)

    That's my take on it.....from the critic's corner.....carry on.
you’re a piece of garbage for blaming Obama and Clinton rather than terrorists for Benghazi.
