Lets keep this thread about as much REAL hockey as possible gents.


I am going to assume the gamespot pageantry in the offseason thread was due to a slow trade year ('sides the pens and a few others), and not because most of the "regulars" have the video game addiction of a 6 yr old Japanese child.

Also, penguins and Bruins suck and may god have mercy on your souls.

kings and hawks are in their own tier.

bruins could have been in that tier if not for the boychuk trade, but now they're significantly worse, although still probably tops in the east.

the blues and sharks, regardless of how they've went out in the playoffs the last few years, are still a threat. they have teams that i could definitely see going on a long playoff run.

penguins are the wildcard. it all depends how they adjust to a new coach. with such a weak conference, you have to give them a chance with that talent; same thing every year.

if anyone else wins the cup outside of those 6 teams, i'd be surprised. anaheim has become overrated as fuk, as has tampa bay. despite stamkos coming back, i think tampa is primed for a setback with bishop coming back down to earth, not to mention i think their secondary scoring will take a hit with johnson/palat probably coming back down as well. last year was a rare year for random breakouts for the lightning; i'd have to think at least some of them will come back down to earth. then people think drouin will automatically come in and light the league on fire for some reason.

Sucks to see Boychuck go, but we needed to make room. Would have rather Kelly be moved instead, but I guess management thinks our young guys can make up the difference. In4 breakout seasons from Dougie Orr Hamilton and Torey Coffey Krug

I agree with everything but the sharks. Love the team and would love to see em deeper in the playoffs, but they try too hard in the regular season and just fade bad in the post.

Neimi also has lost much of his edge. Dont see him as the wall he was couple years back
