    The importance of Fat (Macro)?

How important is Fat to one's diet? Just a few days ago, I've been paying a bit more attention to this one. I've only really concentrated on hitting my Protein intake and didn't really care much for Fat (was never against it, though). However, I started reading a bit more on a it, and I've seen mention of how important it can be for hormones, which include muscle-building properties (or that contribute in some important way).

Idiots with no nutritional knowledge give fat a bad rep but I make sure to get at least 100 grams of it on a bulk. I gives you more energy and strenght

First of all fat is a great energy source and very calorically dense. A lot of people consider it superior to carbs as an energy source. It also distributes fat-soluble vitamins around your bloodstream, manages inflammation, insulates your adipose tissue, it has a role in proper test levels.

It basically has a role in a lot of major functions in your body so just consider it necessary for overall health.

Just like with protein your body can synthesize fat on it's own but there are essential fats that must be acquired from your diet.

    Tldr: it's extremely important

    Hormones
    Keeps you full
    Good for your joints
    Tastes delicious

Apart from that, it's not as essential as people make it out to be. You can get by with less than the "suggested" amounts".

That's good enough for me. Now, I won't be avoiding carbs or anything, but I'll concentrate on making Protein and Fat my priorities. Suddenly I love Fat/Protein foods.

Depends completely on the individual and his or her goals. Also their current (and past) hormone levels.
