Well I had health issues going on and I wasnt cutting then so no it hasnt been that long. I still do have some health related things but im slowly improving. As a result of my health challenges I learned to always look for something else fitness related i can work toward when things stop me from my original plan.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

It's not too bad, was expecting to gain around 7lbs. But it's the bloat that kills me, and squishy lovehandles
I've noticed something interesting, when I am in a deficit I hardly ever sweat. While lifting I get like damp but no actual sweat (can see the moisture on the bench etc. but not on my body), but when I refeed etc. the next day I sweat like 10x more and become way way hotter. My story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

Oh im right, if znik and I can do it with our pear shaped stubborn fat regions, and squishy lower back fats andybody can.
2 more weeks of viking cut for me and then I start 300 carbs 2x a week.
Its not carb cycling though, or refeeding. If I dont give it a name its not controversial.
Hmmm probably should name it though for the e-book "Hungry as hell and not going to take it any more on pull and legs day"

Ah weigh in day....
6 days at 1200 (well under 1250)...1 day at 1500 (oops). Lifted 3 x's....walked 3 x's. We shall see what the scale says momentarily.
1 day well over happened on the 7th (grad day) and still seems like I'm paying for it.
Someone I know says I should take a diet break since I've never really had one. I say that makes me panic completely.
Today is weight watcher's meeting (love my group support there) and food shopping and bank. Another exciting day. LOL Will get a walk in today, though.
Did anyone watch bloodline on Netflix with Kyle Chandler (love him)?Kristen

What if I told you that people tend to lose more weight and keep it off long term when they regularly plan diet breaks?
Idk how you do 1200 calories! Only way I can manage that is with drugs (caffeine + ephedrine). Srs lol
****************************
Did front squats for the first time ever...it was a bit astonishing how much easier and natural they felt compared to back squats. Bar didn't even bother my delts.
Discovered my man and I are both hypermobile so we're going to see how it works out cutting out static stretching, focusing on self myofascial release and trying not to exaggerate ROM. Would be crazy if all this time we were stretching and it was not only unnecessary, but wrecking our joints

Ha! LOL Only caffeine and pure strength of will. I've been dieting since Aug 2012 (down 70). I used to cut at a higher cal range (1700-1800) with days off here and there and an occasional week off for vacations. I thought those were breaks enough. But the scale was up and down this past year (I actually hit 70 lbs down last year) and I've been spinning my wheels up and down the same pounds to stay right where I was last year...no matter the effort put in.
I'm not looking for fast and furious...just steady. And others have told me to drop cals now that I've dropped weight ....has not worked. So...now looking into long term break.
Front squats...how'd they feel on the back? I have lower back arthritis (in the facet joints) and do back squats anyway....crackling noises and all.Kristen

Hi peoples. I feel a bit better from my ego-crash.
Meanwhile, I'm having issues keeping honest on my diet. I'm overeating by a lot.
Ramadan starts in two days. Wish me luck in making it a successful one where I can stay motivated.
Znik.. 7 lbs of water? Don't worry, you're not a fatty yet.
Ps: every single person I know has gained weight this summer thus far. What's going on here?Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;

I've lost tons of weight this summer! Just gained 7 lbs intentionally (did wonders for my recovery btw!) or actually more like 8lbs since I overate on the following day as well.
But on the bright side, I've already pooped out like 3lbs today!
Going back on the strict Viking cut now, just needed a refeed badly.
Ego-crash and overeating is not allowed, gotta get motivated! If everyone stops messing up and cut properly I might be persuaded to make another cookie batch to send over for ChristmasMy story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

I've been experiencing a interesting phenomenon the last few days.
Now that I am pretty much leaner than ever, I can no longer do IF.
If I don't have some food mid-day my body essentially shuts down, I go from normal to extremely lethargic to falling asleep in really short time-frame and pretty much stay in a coma state until I eat.
5-7 hours seems to be the maximum time frame I can go without food (while awake and active). My story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

This is all good but cap says she is getting swollen as hell. Body is getting lumpy with muscles and waist in pants too damn big. Gains are basically running amok.
In other news, its HOT here in phx today. You are allowed as a native to use caps if the breeze is in fact hot and making things worse not better.Last edited by EjnarKolinkar; 06-16-2015 at 05:53 PM.

Morning everyone!!
Beginning my reset today...1300 cals this week coming up. Then 1400 then I'll bump up 200 at a time until my weight levels off and stays and I'll stay at whatever that number is for 3 months. This is going to be the most difficult part of my weight loss journey as of yet....since I feel so far from my goal, it seems counter intuitive but I know I need to break on a logical level. And at the end ...looking at the big picture, this is a snippet of time, really.
So, I will focus on lifting and strength which have been declining obviously. And I will work on my head and become less obsessed with numbers on the scale.
So, I'm still hanging out here, if that's cool.
Also, RE front squats....Znik....I'm going to give those a try to preserve lower back....but since they are quad dominant, I need some hamstring stuff....
I do not do straight leg deads or good mornings as those are awful for me...I just feel terrible during and after. I can do reg DL but I limit those to once a week and 1x5 I work out at home so keep that in mind...I have barbells, bench, cage. I have been doing Strong curves program which is hip thrust and glute bridges and I feel development in glutes and hams I've never felt...but I'd like an alternative to deads in the program.
Also don't do the back extensions.
So today...lift and ....that's it...day off from work.Kristen

Articles like that rustle my jimmies. Too much either or analysis. And makes things sound difficult we do every week. LMAO at making a meal vs going to the gym. How about we hike up our big boy panties and do both? Eat less and move more is still the gold standard IMO.
Hold on let me construct and example which proves my bias toward eating less. Then I can make one about moving more. But rather than argue about which one is more correct, we will just do both because making excuses isn't our goal. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl
