I'm serious. Do Mr. Olympias even sweat any more at the gym?
From Rolex watches to designer sunglasses (indoors), to stylish threads...
Whatever happened to training in rags at 110 Degrees at Metro Flex or Temple Gym??
It's all about mansions and fast cars these days, not to mention $400 immaculate sneakers.
F*ck this prettyboy, girlyman bull****. Bring back the freaks!!

came in expecting red. i was wrong so Ill bite. You are referring to Phil in your op. According to his vids, he trains pretty hard; but he does come off as flashy and cocky sometimes. The rest of the top 20 bodybuilders in the world arent as flashy and train just as hard if not harder.
Also, youre forgetting Jay, who was #2 forever, has more of a baller type lifestyle like Phil....imnoting

I'll bite too...
True but Jay was much more humble imho...never wore the diamond earrings and gold chains.
I don't get the Jordan's obsession, I give OP that, it is a lame trend among some bodybuilders...nothing wrong with them but why are all these bodybuilders rocking them to weight train...it is a bit image like.
Kai is not flashy either and Flex back in the day was a P-I-M-P...really showy in some videos et.
Meh, I have no qualms about the pros today...why let it bother you? Clearly, the top bodybuilders in the sport are putting their blood, sweat and years into their training, they just may not be showing it.THE LEVRONE 2016 MR. OLYMPIA COMEBACK
(Official announcement through Special Invite as of 05/07/16)
"Kick ass, stay strong, keep pumping up the volume baby...Maryland Muscle Machine in the house and we are SHABAMMM!!! outta' here!"

You're making an assumption there... Dorian said numerous times, when competing he didnt let tonnes of pictures out because he didnt want the competitiors in america to know what he would look like show day, he liked the fact they wouldnt see him for 200 days at a time as they couldnt prepare for him if couldnt see him, Dorian trained in the dungeon near where he lived, you only ever saw videos of him training, or on stage, he never put out pictures of what he did the rest of the time, you never saw his house or car... for all you know he could of had suits, expensive cars etc

Op while I kind of agree with you on not being a fan..at all... Of "pretty boys" especially in bodybuilding of all things... You also need to remmeber I'm fairly certain if stupid sh*t like Instagram and twitter and all that garbage existed in that "golden era" it COULD have changed things pretty substantially. I'm sure most would agree that in this day and age, with social media and what not, life is more about showing your happy, how much you do with your life, how successful you are, how much you make, what you have etc to others then it actually is about enjoying life and enjoying what you have.
You're better off complaining about life now, with social media and everything else, than you are complaining about bodybuilding specifically becuase what you're talking about applies to almost every aspect of life right now.... Not just lifting weights.msn:

So I guess in this thread were going to ignore Ronnie's cars, big screen tv, over-the-top custom zoot suits, or sweet personal gym he's added on to his house? I think you have a fantasy image of what bodybuilding once was. Go watch an early 90's training video with Kevin Levrone or Shawn Ray, observe the neon spandex, check out Flex Wheeler showing off his 90's Mercedes, and then come back here and complain about how ****ty things are "these days.". Nothing has changed, you're just mourning the loss of something that never existed.
