I've been doing standing calf raises for 4 sets of 8-12 reps 2-3 times a week. I'll gradually push to do them more often and more sets, since that's what I found to work for other muscle groups I had trouble growing.

thanks, my calves are my weakest muscle, i have really long limbs and thin wrists and ankles. I am trying 4 sets of 15 4 times a week at the moment and see if that helps. I have tried it all when it comes to them tho haha

I agree. I've been hitting shoulders hard for the past 2 years and it has resulted in me finally getting decent shoulders, but I want them rounder and bigger. Thanks!

Well either way, your genetics are in your favour. if I were you Id cash in and start up with the free weights and machines to get fully proportionate. Just to get a little bit thicker, unless of course you're an athlete now.

Currently not an athlete. I do much of my workouts with machines, cables and dumbbells so it's just a matter of putting in more time to get more proportionate. My focus is on calves, arms and shoulders.

    Thanks man, and good lifts!

By the way, I wrote a complete guide on how I raised my testosterone levels with 120% naturally (with my blood work as proof included): http://skinnyfattransformation.com/h...-testosterone/

Right are you stating honestly that you doubled your testosterone completely naturally? If so I find that very very hard to believe. I know you are creating a story here... But honestly, what supplements are you really using? You are in Europe like myself, so we are allowed to take and use personal stuff here.

By the way - sorry if that seems disrespectful. However due to personal circumstances I've had reason to speak to a lot of consultants about this area of medicine - and your website is quite at odds with what I've heard from them.

Also why are you advocating lifting light (your words) and then promoting your site with the promise off: Get a 400 lbs deadlift in 1 year?

Finally - I don't think that it's particularly cool to be promoting to youngsters to "skip morning classes" so they can sleep more. Skipping the classes may allow them more time to sleep, but it's not a solid foundation to being either successful or the best version of yourself is it... I can assure you as someone who is a bit older than you, I'd be sacked if I started missing morning meetings, I'd have been jailed in the Army and I'd have kicked out of school for doing so.

Arnold was the one who advocates getting the sleep in fast and then getting to work to be the best. You seem to be saying sleep for as long as you want, don't work overly hard in the gym change your diet slightly and you too can have the body of someone who looks like they are on a lot of gear...

Sorry if I'm sounding like a dick - but my questions are genuine, and my comments are just what stands out to me.

I posted blood work of my testosterone increases. Do you really think I would juice to get a level of 651 ng/dl, which is the average level of a 40-something male? I started at super low levels and got them to average through hard work. I don't know where in Europe you live, but here in Denmark, steroids are illegal. To be honest, I did try to get testosterone when I had low levels, but I was rejected because I'm a young guy.

You're taking the skipping morning classes out of context. I wrote specifically that most people cannot do that, and I used it as an example to show how badly I wanted this. I'm not telling other people to skip classes. This is just the choice I made because I wanted to maximize my chances of a great physique.

Throughout the past 2 years I have gradually changed my training from a combination of heavy weights and bodyweight training, to never doing heavy weights. I wrote the book at a time where I was still on the fence about heavy weights, and now I don't do them anymore. Also, I promote light-moderate weights. You can get a great workout with those. You don't need to squat and deadlift heavy to build a great physique.

I never said to not work overly hard in the gym. I'm in the gym 6 days a week for 1-2.5 hours and I don't leave before I'm done. You don't need to lift heavy to get a good workout. Plenty of people get in shape with push ups and pull ups.

Finally, I want to make it clear that my website has +40 articles and many of them deal with different issues, therefore the recommendations may differ. There's not just one way to build a great physique, and everyone is different, therefore I try to give people different principles and perspectives on bodybuilding so they can find what works best for them, instead of religiously following a routine just because it's stated on a website.

If I'm wrong I apologise. And I mean that.

However I never saw a single bloke in the Army who got what you would call "big" from bodyweight exercises, and like you we did them every day. Thats a sample size of thousands. And we are talking about young active healthy guys, with normal levels of test. So honestly I do find your transformation miraculous.

Personally I don't care what people use and take. I just no don't want kids believing they can do X following Y when it's not possible. It leads to low self esteem and other problems. Your transformation is remarkable no matter how you did it. So congratulations.

    Thank you.

I want to point out that my progress happened over 4 years where I consistently ate solid meals and trained minimum 3 times a week with progression in mind, and I believe that this consistency has been key to progress. It doesn't matter what type of program you do if you don't put in the time as a natural.

If you look through my pics there's never a time where I suddenly blow up. It's all tiny progress every 6 months or so added up over 4 years.

If there's any blood test I can do to prove myself I'll do it. It's free in Denmark, so I'll make a doctor's appointment right away. Also, I got +50 pages of blood work so there might be something useful there.

Hey, awesome transformation! Thank you for your articles and everything else. I downloaded your book too, nice read.

What motivates me to post here is one of your articles, "Why You Shouldn’t do Starting Strength as a Beginner". Here's my situation: I'm a classic skinny-fat on his road to transform. I did calisthenics for a while and liked it, but realised I lacked strength and muscle mass. Then, I jumped into Stronglifts (similar to SS), plus a split for a while. I increased my 1RM in bench/squat/deadlift from 155/185/??? to 200/~300/~355 (deadlifted 315x5 a week ago) weighing ~185 lbs, and gained a bit of muscle, yet certainly not enough; I also gained, although not as much as you did, plenty of unwanted fat.

So, I was thinking, since I've got a better base, that I could disregard weightlifting and go back to calisthenics for a while, until I'm lean enough (I plan to clean bulk on something like upper/lower split, but not before leaning out), since I've already got intermediate strength according to plenty of strength standards. Plus, I read that you did something like that, although you had a more decent deadlift.

What's your take on it? Thanks in advance!
