    You're right about DL's, I don't know how or why but even John Broz advocates maxing out on deadlifts maybe twice a year. I'm assuming his PLers do more than that, but he's a huge advocate of speed pulls. I really think though that DLing twice a week is fine as long as you're getting 9+ hours sleep a night, but many people can't get that amount. Sleep is a critical factor in athletic performance though, and many people skimp by with 6 hours a night like a normal adult thinking that's fine.
