    deadlift jack

How many of you guys use one, mini or full sized? loading these bumpers is a pain in the ass sometimes. was thinking of buying the rogue fitness one; do you guys recommend anything cheaper/better?

I do. Full size. Don't use bumpers, but no way I'm loading/unloading 10+ plates without one.

I just roll the first (inner) plate onto a flat 5lb plate to raise it up a bit and load them on or off. I had a rogue mini DL jack but didn't use it that much.

Bought some UHMW with adhesive back to put on it and use it for every workout. To be honest I would not hesitate to buy it again with as often as I use it and how easy it makes changing out plates.

Again Faster with UHMW every session don't know what I'd do without it. One of those things that makes your life easier.

Used to roll onto 2.5lb plates. Now I use a WCB mini deadlift jack. It's changed my life and would never want to go back.

    West Carey mini jack.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

This. I welded my own, the full size is infinitely nicer than a mini jack off you have the space for it. I also do Olympic lifts, so I use it literally every workout.

I welded my own one up, it looks identical to the Rogue one pictured above...Muscle Driver USA has them too.

I only deadlift 250-315 for training, so it's not like I have a truck axel on the platform, but it is a lot easier to
load and unload plates...I'd grab one Dom, worth the money if you ask me.

I have the Rogue as well. For everyone thinking about using $30 to make it out of plumbing pipe, I keep thinking that if you spend $30 more, you get something that you could eventually sell for close to what you paid. It's hard to sell homemade weightlifting stuff on CL...if it was welded yourself, different story...it's just the plumbing pipe ones look like crap.. Rogue stuff sells like hotcakes on CL.

How many people here are flipping mini deadlift jacks, though? Only thing that would make me get rid of my pipe one would be if I decided to purchase a full size jack...even then, I'll just break down the pipe and keep it for any potential future plumbing fixes or something. It's $20 worth of pipe. As far as it looking like crap, meh, it sits in the corner of my gym and is barely noticeable.

It's just my opinion, man. No offense intended. I personally looked for a mini deadlift jack on CL for a little bit before buying one new.

Lol wasn't trying to be a dick, sorry if it came across like that. I just felt that a DL jack was one of those things that was quick and easy enough to DIY vs. purchase. I did have the Rogue one in my cart and was in the process of checking out a few times before I decided to just run to Lowes and put one together.

Either that, or just use contact cement with a few strips of rubber...

Not my video, but I made a deadlift jack from 3/4" pipe based on these specs. Been using it for a couple years and it works great. Cost me $30

It's hard to sell homemade weightlifting stuff on CL...if it was welded yourself, different story...it's just the plumbing pipe ones look like crap.. Rogue stuff sells like hotcakes on CL.
If re-selling equipment is in any way a priority then commercially made versions are definitely the way to go. If not then making one could save a lot of money. My jack may not look spiffy, but it gets the job done just as well as those double the price.

anyhow i have the scratch to spend on a mini-jack; this thread was more about if people end up using it or it just ends up collecting dust. thanks for the input everyone, reps as i get around to it.

In my experience it was a bit of a dust collector because I didn't like the design (short arm), welding (half welded- pet peeve)and how it was put together (crooked). It did work, but was still a pain. I could see full unit being useful but then it's a big apparatus you need to store and move around. I'd likely go this route next time though. Maybe if you are yanking huge numbers it may help more, but in my 400-450 DL range it's just easier to roll onto plates.

Mine sits on my platform until I'm using my platform, in which case it sits beside my rack.

How do you like the Dead Wedge? I'm really intrigued by it, especially at $9.99 (shipping kills it though).
