Have a lovely weekend! I took a trip last week to an art museum because there was an exhibit I had been waiting to see. The museum sits right above the ocean and the grounds are full of flowers so that's where the picture came from.
This man is rowing his boat in the ocean. I don't think it's anything I would attempt but I liked the shot.

This guy was sitting on top of a pole and had just finished eating half of a Vole he caught. I saw him keep looking up and I tried looking to see what he was looking at, but couldn't see anything. Well all of a sudden he takes flight and latches onto a Mourning Dove in the tree right in front of me. It weighed too much for him to fly with, so the both of them tumbled to the ground 15' in front of us. (talk about right place, right time!) I've photographed 5 different Northern Hawk Owls over 14 years and this is the first time I've ever seen one catch a bird, let alone a Mourning Dove! He tried to fly with it, but being 1/2 his body weight, he couldn't get far with it.

Yes, some Owls are nocturnal and some are diurnal, as is the case with the Hawk Owl, meaning they hunt during the day. Snowy Owls also are diurnal. This guy will also keep hunting and stash food in crooks of branches for later. This particular Owl is an excellent hunter. Thanks!Originally Posted by Mark1T

I took these photos of my Winter Yellow Jasmine vine that I planted about 12 years ago and it went wild. Absolutely my favorite flower and you would not believe the beautiful aroma coming from all of them.
