been eyeballing the Olympus Om-D cameras for a while now. well, the local big boxish camera store put the om-d em10 mark iii on super sale this week so i scooped one up for just $380. next month i'll get the 14-150mm lens to go with it, which from what i've found is anywhere from 350-600 depending on where you get it from.
anyone on here have any experience in the micro 4/3 or mirrorless systems? I've been on old canon and nikon dslr's for years and just haven't made the jump til now.my workout blog: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=177584181&p=1588523911#post1588523911

I've been using Sony mirrorless cameras for a while now. I started out with an APS-C NEX-7 and then got one of their full frame cameras. The image quality of the A7rII is great, but despite being mirrorless, most of the lenses that I mount on the body make it kind of bulky and heavy. The NEX-7 was much easier to carry around. Micro four thirds has an even smaller sensor and should be even more compact and lighter than Sony APS-C.

we missed fall colors in Breckenridge, CO by a few weeks, but had a great drive up Boreas Pass regardless. Definately gonna hit that spot up again next year a month or so earlier. Still some great shots, here's a few of my fave's from that drive.
Olympus OMD EM-10 Mark iii, with a 14-150mm ED F4-5.6 zoom lens
i don't shoot with filters, and i haven't touched my tripod in years unless i'm doing an event, so these are all handheld, but i also wasn't doing any long exposures either.

Starting up again where I left off – unpacked the camera again after a few years. Complete noob still, but at least I've started going over guides etc so I can understand the technical side a bit better this time and appreciate exactly what I am holding or buying.
Last time I had gotten a second hand ”superzoom” and was just mostly fascinated with the zoom thing. Still think it's cool, but seems to be a lot of negatives to those cameras as well. Have the 2014 Fujifilm finepix s4800 (got it at the time for 70 usd), but thinking about upgrading to a new Panasonic Lumix FZ80 (FZ82) for a 60X zoom and excellent creeper shots (3-400 usd).
Then for a bit higher quality and after doing some "research", I am thinking about getting a used Sony A7S as a starting point (500 usd) and one or two 3rd party lenses (300 usd each).

I thought a low light camera would fit well since wanted to take pictures around town when travelling and moving about mainly in the evening (buildings, ppl, slice of life, nightlife) and could be good for some indoor use like museums as well I hope.
I just wanted to share this, and ofc appreciate if the more experienced ppl here have any insights on these items, what to watch for, or any tips regarding that type of shooting.
Hopefully we can all get a bit more motivated in here with spring and summer, vacations etc. Thanks all, enjoy seeing what you guys shoot.
Edit: hope to bring some ok shots from bronze age and viking age stuff after vacation in Gotland late August.Last edited by steffo99; 05-23-2022 at 04:25 PM.
