Thanks! They said probably by the middle of next week and then the position would start the week after that and run for 4 months.
Thanks!
Yeah, I was not happy. This is why people are angry all the time on my team. Because of sh!t like this.
Should know by the middle of next week. I really hope I get it. Even if it doesn't turn into something permanent, it'll be great experience and look good on my resume, which will set me up for one something permanent does open up down the road.
Thanks! If there had been anyone else in the gym other than the skeezy guy who stares at my ass and coughs all over everything, I'd have run around high-fiving people. I may or may not have done a Rick Flair "Woooooo" and jumped up and down though

Hahaha!! I threw in a county called Yolo last weekend. I couldn't stop laughing at all the Yolo signs. The residents there must not think it's funny, but I thought it was hysterical. #tourist

Tempting.... So my weekend gym has this whole set up that I don't even know how to describe but it looks like some kind of American Ninja Warrior set-up with monkey bars. A couple of weeks ago some skinny ass dude managed to do a pull-up and then decided it would be cool to get on top of the thing and crawl across the top screaming like a banshee. Needless to say, he was escorted from the premises
That's great! There's a town in southeastern Ohio called Siemen. I can't drive past the exit without almost crying from laughter. I'm so mature...Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431

And then there's Big Bone Lick...
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's great
True story: Girl on my bf's daughter's select soccer team back when she was in high school was pretty heavily recruited by several colleges, one of them being Morehead. I'll never forget her telling me there was no way she could go to school there. I asked her why and she said, "Uh... Because Morehead..."
Things are good. No pics of the lift, but pics of me coming up. By the way, I knew you'd kill it at your comp. You look great!Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431

Half day of vacay yesterday, 1RM testing of OHP yesterday, and then delicious dinner last night. Turned out to be a pretty good day. Actually got some progress pics that don't totally suck too. For now anyway, the See-Food diet is working. Lifts and going up. Scale has stayed pretty much the same. Shoulders and chest are a big bigger, ass is smaller, thighs are pretty much the same but definitely tighter. I figure I'll keep riding this horse for as long as I can.

Arm circles, band pull aparts, band pull overs, rotator cuff stuff, bw squats, squat stretch
Strict OHP:
Bar x 5
55 x 3
65 x 2

Pull-ups

Build back the muscle I lost while I went through a "I hate lifting" phase
Love lifting again

Thanks
Richard (Dick) Head... OMFG... His parents should be shot.
Thank you
Clearly I need to learn the proper way to work up to a 1RM because I always do this to myself. I think I'm too tentative so I fart around with too many sets at lower weights. I need to just get some balls and fukking do it with the higher weight. I screwed myself again yesterday on my DLs doing this
Thanks Hammie!!
I love those shoes. They're Merrell Barefoot Trail Runners or something like that. Not the ones with the toes because those are just weird, but the soles are really thin and they're really light and super comfy. I've had them for about a year now. They're great for lifting in a gym that won't let you go barefoot.Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431

Tested 1RM with DLs yesterday. Thought for sure I'd have 225. Was disappoint. Again. And I actually made a point of not farting around working up to it, or at least I thought I did but I couldn't get the damn thing off the ground. Pissed Lassie was pissed. Everything else was really good, but that sucked.

Lassie, your squat PR is 225 correct? I bet it's some semi easy form tweak with DL and you could hit like 240-250 easy. SRS

Felt kinda crappy this morning but went to the gym anyway and ended up with some pretty good lifting and much better than expected conditioning. Going to do a mini-deload this week, basically just backing off weight and straightening out form and then since I'm doing this challenge at work with the main lifts, I'm going to incorporate a 5/3/1 based rep/weight/set scheme with those to get some programmed progressive loading/structure in. That should give me a chance to make some form tweaks too since the first couple of weeks will be on the lighter side of what I've been doing. I need to get my bench and DL clusterfukery straightened out. Also starting an early schedule this week for at least the next few months and therefore will be lifting at 6:00am so that should be fun. Maybe my rage at being up before the sun will channel into better lifting
Chest & Arms HT:
Warm-up:
Arm circles, band pull aparts, band pull overs, rotator cuff stuff
Speed Bench:
Warm-up Sets
Bar x 8
55 x 8
65 x 5
Working Sets
75 x 3 x 6 *Focused on staying really tight and pushing down with my heels while I'm pushing up with my arms.
Incline DB Bench/Straight Bar Curls SS:
Incline Bench
35s x 8 x 3
Curls
40 x 10 x 3
Incline DB Flies/DB Overhead Extensions SS:
Flies
22.5s x 10 x 3
Extensions
42.5 x 10 x 3
Cable Rope Hammer Curls/Cable Rope Triceps Pull Downs SS:
Curls
35.5 x 12 x 3
Triceps
44 x 12 x 3
Met-Con:
4 RFT
30 Air Squats
10 Push-ups
7 Burpees
20 KB Swings - 12kg KB
*Completed in 9 minutes flat.
Some foam rolling and stretching and that was it. Short, sweet, and to the point. My arms and chest are totally smoked. Might take a walk after dinner tonight because it's so glorious outside. Going to try to convince the BF to come with me. We have a really nice park with a nice paved 5k jogging trail, and then it has some great hiking trails too, about a mile from our house and it's way too nice outside to sit in here when it stays light late.Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431

Thank you for the compliment, you're so sweet. I had no clue I'd do well. Tbh, I was expecting NOTHING. I guess the stars aligned. I can tell you I was humbled by the amazing competition and the positive vibe at the show, in general. It was such an awesome experience.
Those roasted plantains look amazeballs. Just sayin. Can't isn't in my vocab.

You've got the 225.
Just my experience, but if I go into a lift (even one that I've never pulled) mentally KNOWING I've got it - I get it. I know it sounds like "new age" nonsense, but what I've found works best is visualization.
The night before, visualize yourself hitting the lift successfully over-and-over. Then when you hit the gym it just becomes a matter of execution.#Mensan

This
And this. My last DL PR was like that, and my bench one. Saw it perfectly in my brain. Went in the gym knowing it was going to happen, and then some. It's all about mind set. However, if I could go in the gym every day with that cool confidence I'd be the strongest person on Earth___________________________________________________________

The plantains were amazeballs. All I did was slice them and toss them with some melted coconut oil, some cinnamon, cumin, and chipotle chili powder. And I did NOT tell my boyfriend what they were or that I used coconut oil and he thought they were about the best thing he's ever eaten
Yeah, there's a huge difference between thinking you might have it and knowing you do have it. I went in thinking I probably had it and then psyched myself out.
Yep. I need to stop thinking about it and second guessing everything and just fukking do it. It's not always going to work, but it'll work better than my current d!cking around does.Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431
