it doesnt take any of your information

it pulls your username and avi from http://my.bodybuilding.com/photos/view/type/profile and everything is done in the client, none of your data is stored or sent any where.

Only weird thing I get is when I post on a page I will get a response notification, even though the response was to an older post on the same page. Despite there not being a new response to any post of mine, only an older one that I responded to.

If that description did not make sense let me know and I'll elaborate more if I can.

what it sounds like is that your posting in a thread someone quoted you in but that post is so old that forum buddy didn't pick it up in the forum wide search (where it searches for the 20 newest quotes). so what is happening is that when you post in that thread, forum buddy puts that thread on watch and picks up all the quotes that are not in it's database and puts it in your notifications. this in theory should only happen 5 or 6 times until forum buddy has the majority of your new quotes in it's database (unless you keep refreshing forum buddy or re-installing it).

I may put some kind of restriction on not to pick up posts older then "x" amount of days but I don't want to limit the user experience to what I think the appropriate number should be. we will see though I got some plans for forum buddy in the new year!

None of this would be needed if this site would update to the 21st century and realize forum alerts are a pretty ****ing important aspect for message board discussions. Probably the only forum I've been on where you need to actually upgrade for a basic function such as this.

- Popup notifications are now disabled until initialization is over.
- The extension now continues to work when the Forum Buddy server goes down.
- New quotes are now dynamically added when Forum Buddy is open in the popup or popout.
- Fixed issue of popup window growing in width due to URLs and long words not breaking.
- Fixed avatar not displaying on Account Refresh.
- Overall performance enhancement.

Popup Notification Functionality
- Popup notification shows for 5 seconds then disappear.
- A maximum of 3 notifications will show at one time.
- When you click the popup notification, a new browser tab will open bringing you to the post then that post in Forum Buddy gets marked as read.
- When you click the 'x' on the popup notification, the notification bubble will close and the post will not get marked as read.
- Popup notifications will appear even when you don't have a browser tab open to let you know the second that you have been mentioned/quoted.
- Popup notifications are disabled for the initial quote retrieval and automatically enabled afterwards as a default setting.
- You can disable popup notifications by right clicking the forum buddy icon, going into options, and unchecking “Popup Notifications” in Account Settings.

when you log into bodybuilding.com check off "remember me" so your account stays logged in

I made forum buddy so that forum buddy logs out when you when you log out of the bodybuilding forums (for privacy reasons)
