    Thank you!!
I've always been good at pullups from all the climbing I did as a kid.

There are many ways you could work towards repping pullups.

Lat Pulldown - Good for doing higher rep (5-12 reps) accessory work if you can't do reps with bw yet.
Rubber band technique - this is a good one, it gives more help at the bottom of the pull up (where most ppl are weaker) and very little help at the top (strongest point). At the gym I used to go to they had 3 rubber bands of different resistance so you could go from a band that helps a lot and work towards the weakest band before going free bodyweight.
Pullup assistance machine - most gyms have these, it allows you to progressively decrease assistance
Negatives Start at top and lower yourself slowly. Do sets of 3-5 reps.

Yes, the pullup assistance machine is what I meant. So that's ok...roger. THANK YOU for the other suggestions.

    Chinups are easier than pullups?
Shouldn't that be a good stepping stone to get to do pullups?

Just tried this for the first time. Got 1:00 the first time and then I got 1: 05 the second time. Almost been lifting for six and a half months now. Will try this again a year from now. Thanks for the inspiration OP
