More Palestinian civilians were killed last year than at any time since 1967, says United Nations

More civilians were killed in Palestine last year than at any time since 1967, the United Nations has said.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said 2014 had been a “devastating year” for the occupied territories, blaming Israel’s illegal occupation of the area.
“Overall, some 4,000,000 Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip remain under an Israeli military occupation that prevents them from exercising many of their basic human rights,” the report said.
“This crisis stems from the prolonged occupation and recurrent hostilities, alongside a system of policies that undermine the ability of Palestinians to live normal, selfsustaining lives and realize the full spectrum of their rights, including the right to self-determination.”
In July Israel bombarded the Gaza strip for seven weeks then sent troops into the area as militant groups fired rockets at Israel.
A total of 2,220 Palestinians, including 1,492 civilians were killed in Gaza, the UN said, noting that “Israeli attacks striking residential buildings accounted for a significant number of the civilian casualties”.
The Israeli Military has so far announced criminal investigations into only 19 ‘exceptional incidents’ relating to the hostilities.
The report says the Israeli death toll from the hostilities in Gaza was 71, 66 of whom were soldiers.
Palestine’s West Bank also suffered the highest number of deaths in years – 58 Palestinians and 16 Israelis.
“Also of concern is the sharp increase in the percentage of child casualties by Israeli forces [in the West Bank],” the report warned. “13 were killed, compared to four in 2013.”
Forced displacement of Palestinians was also a major concern for the relief agency. 28% of Gaza’s population were forced to flee their homes during the hostilities, some half a million people.
One in five of these internally displaced people has been unable to return to this day.
“Palestinian civilians across the oPt [Occupied Palestinian Territory] continue to be subject to threats to their lives, physical safety and liberty from conflict-related violence, and from policies and practices related to the Israeli occupation, including settler violence,” the report said.
Hundreds of Palestinians were also displaced in the West Bank, by what the UN calls “punitive demolitions” of homes by Israeli authorities.
“Punitive home demolitions impact the entire family and constitute a form of collective penalty in breach of Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention,” the report warned.
This Monday the US Obama administration’s most senior official called on Israel to end its occupation of the territories.
“Israel cannot maintain military control of another people indefinitely,” White House chief of staff Denis McDonough told a meeting of liberal American pro-Israel lobbyists, J-Street. “An occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end.”

Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand. (1 Samuel 17:50)

Just because Hamas calls them civilians, and just because the UN decides to believe Hamas, does not mean that they are civilians.
A tremendous amount of them were actually Hamas fighters. This was discussed many pages ago in this thread.
And those who were civilians were used by Hamas as human shields.

Yep, Israel racially and religiously and ethnically profiles at their border crossings. They are very open about it.
If you are Arab, or Muslim, or a member of certain political groups, you can usually get into Israel, but they will give you a very very hard time. And sometimes they just ban you.
Even if you are Jewish, and a frequent traveler to Israel, you get asked lots of questions about who you are, what you are doing in Israel, did you pack all of your luggage by yourself, ect. If they don't like the answers that they get, things will get worse for you.
The people asking these questions get frequent updates from the Mossad/Shin Bet on what to look out for, and they look for different people to scrutinize depending on the intelligence assessment that they get.
It may seem ridiculous and super paranoid to some, but when you have some many people trying to commit violence against your country, and hijack your airplanes (which they did plenty of times when Israeli security was more lax) these efforts are quite reasonable.

not their land sir, its disputed.
stealing most of their water lmao. some interesting facts about the water, as there is in place an agreement which both parties are bound by, which act as interesting metaphors for both sides insofar as Israel is awesome, goes that extra mile and innovative and the PA are dirty thieving bastards lol.
Israel fulfills its obligations according to the Water Agreement and beyond, as shown in the following:
During the interim period of the Oslo talks, Israel made available approximately 70 MCM/year of water to the Palestinians in the West Bank even though the Water Agreement allocates a much smaller quantity of only 23.6 MCM/year.
The Palestinian Authority consumes approximately 200 MCM of water every year. Israel supplies the Palestinians with 50 MCM of water, which is far beyond its obligation in the Water Agreement (31 MCM).
Though Israel is often accused of “stealing” water or otherwise misallocating supplies to the disadvantage of the Palestinians, a study by Professor Haim Gvirtzman found “there is almost no difference in per capita consumption of natural water between Israelis and Palestinians.”
Palestinians consume significantly more water than the minimum human needs defined by the World Health Organization.
Palestinian farmers overwater their crops using outdated methods and much of the water is wasted due to leakage and mismanagement.
The Palestinians constantly breach the agreement by drilling more than 300 unauthorized wells in the West Bank.
The Palestinians have illegally connected to Israeli water lines, which Gvirtzman says is “stealing Israel's water.”
The Palestinians do not treat 95 percent of their sewage, which flows freely in the streams and into Israel, contaminating the environment and the aquifer en route. Only one sewage plant has been built in the last 15 years in the West Bank.
The Palestinians are not developing any new water sources, either through sewage treatment, or desalination.
Israel makes extensive use of recycled waste water in agriculture; the Palestinians do not recycle

Israel knew they had to turn over the funds eventually and the PA knew that any claims at the ICC over settlements was never going to amount to anything. Where are all the pro-pally posters that thought these claims at the ICC were going to be a big story and problem for Israel?
“Israel in the Middle East is fighting on behalf of the free world,” declared Mosab Hassan Yousef, the outspoken son of Hamas leader Hassan Yousef.

Great way to repair relations Bibi, you're doing just fine.
The pressure is increasing on Obama over his foreign policy; and it’s time for supporters of peace to line up behind him. Today in his efforts to counter the Iran deal, Netanyahu called the US part of the “Axis,” a naked reference to Nazi Germany and its allies in World War 2. -No war but class war

Anonymous warn Israel to prepare for an "Electronic Holocaust"
We are coming back to punish you again, for your crimes in the Palestinian territories. All we see is continuous aggression, bombing, killing and kidnapping of the Palestinian people, as in the last war against Gaza in 2014. This is why elite cyber-squadrons, from around the world, will decide to unite in solidarity, with the Palestinian people, against Israel, as one entity to disrupt and erase Israel from cyberspace. . . We'll show you on 7 April 2015 what the electronic holocaust meansIn the video Anonymous show footage of what they say are examples of Israel's crime against Palestinian people and also attempt to rally young people from Palestine to never give up, calling them a 'symbol of resistance'.
It's not the first time they have attempted such an attack on Israel, back in 2013, Anonymous claimed that #Op_Israel caused $3 billion (£2 billion) worth of damage to Israel and targeted more than 100,000 websites, 40,000 ******** pages, 5,000 Twitter accounts and 30,000 Israeli bank accounts.
The Israeli government however, have said that due to their adoption of cyber-warfare tactics both offensively and defensively, they are expecting to see significantly less damage"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity"

It wasn't Jordan's to have. And Britain gave the West Bank to Jordan.
Do you have anything to offer up or is "Zionist prop" going to be the full weight of your argument?
Wednesday, 11 February 2015
In the northern Jordan Valley last week, Israeli forces destroyed a 1,000 metre pipeline built to provide water to Palestinian communities. In East Jerusalem, tens of thousands of Palestinians have been cut off from a regular supply of running water for nearly a year. In Gaza, the water infrastructure has been decimated and in the homes that do receive water it is still undrinkable. Water and who controls it has become a key part of Israel's occupation, with the Palestinian territories; West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, in a constant struggle for the vital resource.
...
In 1967, the year the occupation began, Israel put the plan Weizmann had talked about as early as 1919 into action. All Palestinian water resources were declared Israeli State Property and Palestinians had to apply for permits to develop their water resources. After nearly 30 years, the Oslo Accords were signed, supposedly bringing an end to the situation. Another 20 years on, it is apparent that they instead formalised and legitimised an existing discriminatory arrangement - an arrangement still in place today.
In the West Bank, the Jordan River, one of the main water sources, has been diverted upstream into Lake Kinneret/Tiberias/Sea of Galilee - lakes inside Israel, while Palestinians are physically barred from accessing its river banks. Palestinians have access to one fifth of the mountain aquifer, the other main source, while Israel abstracts the balance, and in addition overdraws by more than 50 per cent, up to 1.8 times its share under Oslo.
The Separation Wall, roadblocks, checkpoints and other Israeli 'security measures' further restrict Palestinian communities' access to water resources and filling points. Meanwhile Israeli settlers living in the same territory are supplied with an abundance of water; the consumption of more than 500,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank is about six times higher than that of 2.6 million Palestinians in the West Bank.
To boost insufficient supplies, the Palestinians must buy water from Israel's national water company "Mekorot" – the same water that Israel extracts from the mountain aquifer and which the Palestinians should be able to extract for themselves.
...
Amnesty International
“Israel allows the Palestinians access to only a fraction of the shared water resources, which lie mostly in the occupied West Bank, while the unlawful Israeli settlements there receive virtually unlimited supplies. In Gaza the Israeli blockade has made an already dire situation worse,” said Donatella Rovera, Amnesty International’s researcher on Israel and the OPT.
These unreasonably restrict the availability of water in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) and prevent the Palestinians developing an effective water infrastructure there.
In a new extensive report, Amnesty International revealed the extent to which Israel’s discriminatory water policies and practices are denying Palestinians their right to access to water.
Israel uses more than 80 per cent of the water from the Mountain Aquifer, the main source of underground water in Israel and the OPT, while restricting Palestinian access to a mere 20 per cent.
The Mountain Aquifer is the only source for water for Palestinians in the West Bank, but only one of several for Israel, which also takes for itself all the water available from the Jordan River.
While Palestinian daily water consumption barely reaches 70 litres a day per person, Israeli daily consumption is more than 300 litres per day, four times as much .
In some rural communities Palestinians survive on barely 20 litres per day, the minimum amount recommended for domestic use in emergency situations.
Some 180,000-200,000 Palestinians living in rural communities have no access to running water and the Israeli army often prevents them from even collecting rainwater.
In contrast, Israeli settlers, who live in the West Bank in violation of international law, have intensive-irrigation farms, lush gardens and swimming pools.
Numbering about 450,000, the settlers use as much or more water than the Palestinian population of some 2.3 million.

The Big K still at it..
I simply do not understand why people dwell on useless issues. Palestinians are irrelevant, Israeli's are more relevant than the arabs but no more so than the saudi's until their money ticket naturally runs out.
On the global scale, no one gives 2 chits about this part of the world.
What do you do in ***** other than whine about useless things?
