Suppressor guys...looking at you meat...do you have anything for safely storing/transporting the thing after shooting when it's hot? I don't know that I'll always have time to wait around for it to cool and don't want to, you know, melt my rifle bag or set my car seat on fire.

Eh. .22 doesn't get hot enough to bother with gloves. 5.56 gets my SDN6 hot enough to burn but cools down enough to put it in the case/holder it comes with. Didn't yours come with one?

it did. I don't know how this would be quantified, but how hot is it when you put it in that molle pouch? I assume the pouch can handle some decent heat, but as much as an oven mitt? 400-600*F?

I would imagine it would cool pretty quick though no? My sig braced piphtol (now i havent had a bajillion rounds through it yet) seems to cool right down. But no idea how this compares to a supressor though.

was just thinking about something like that size that gets that hot. Maybe look into a hair straightener sleeve. them fuarkers get hot like 450 degrees or something.

i think they do already, i could get one for my MP5 pistol but to be honest i think those arm braces are ugly and i would rather have a single pt sling. that will stabilize the pistol almost as well as a stock

I've fired rifles and pistols quite a bit, and quite rapidly, getting them pretty warm...but I only put 112 rounds through it that trip, and some of those were slow (10 shot groups running the target in and out in between), yet it was so hot that it was scarring the paper target I set it on...without contacting the paper. I have not had a barrel or part to a firearm get anything like that before as far as I know. I mean...easily exceed 600*F according to the manual. And it weighs 20oz so that's a decent mass/amount of heat.

I need to search the NFA specific forums I guess. On MFC the search found one person asking this in the NFA forum and the thread was closed with a scolding to use the search feature.
