Glad to finally see a men's physique section on these forums.
Feel free to ask me anything men's physique related and I will do my best to answer accordingly!

Really glad to see you starting a thread!
Have always been a fan of yours since I started following physique, and (hopefully) plan on competing in my first show in the 2015 season.
What was your first show like?
How did you place?
Looking back on the experience, what would you do again during your prep and what would you change?USMC (2009-2013)

My first show went well considering my lack of experience. I had limited diet/nutrition knowledge and limited posing knowledge. I actually just watched the guys routines that went on stage and winged it. Hell, I didn't even shave my body. With all that being said I still placed second. The two things I learned from that experience was--
A. I need to really focus on my diet, water manipulation, and posing.
B. That if I applied myself then I would be able to go far in this division.

Awesome to have you on here, BIG fan of your IG.
Who are the strongest physique competitors you've trained with, some of their lifts?
What would you change about physique as far as the judging/posing goes?
If you could go back and talk to your 18 year old self and tell him anything, what would you say?

If you ever come remotely close to leaving your current condition of a grocery store bag lady, you'll know that this is a physique sport and that showing the lower abdominals is a good indicator of how lean you are. Now there's a clean-up on isle 9 you worthless manlet. Get busy.

Strongest physique competitor that I have trained with is probably Russell Waheed. We have trained together more then a dozen times and I find myself often hurting afterward. Craig Capurso is also very strong but I haven't had the privilege do training with him.
When it comes to the judging I don't invest very much thought into it. All I have control over is the package I bring to stage and how I present it.
If I could go back and talk to the teenage Sadik I would tell myself to medium sized eat clean meals more often (rather then 2-3 huge meals).

My biggest obstacle was myself. Competing in the big show was very difficult mentally, especially when the internet was going crazy with predictions. I defiantly felt the pressure. I often found myself turning off my phone notifications once i reached four weeks out. It's important to stay out of your own head. "Make sure your biggest enemy doesn't live between your own two ears".

I keep carbs pretty low for the last 3-4 weeks. The only meals I eat to fill out are steak and sweet potato the night before the show then I repeat that meal the morning of my show.
If I compete on Saturday I usually stop cardio on Tuesday. If you have to do cardio all the way up to your show. Then your not ready.
I usually water load one week out, then eventual taper down the water to 50oz the day before the show. I then use natural diuretics such as vit-c and b6 to help tighten up.

Hey Sadik,
First let me say I really admire the package you bring to this game. Do you alter your training routine to specifically train for MP in terms of the frequency you train certain muscle groups or any other training principles? Also, what is your take on bulking/cutting versus staying at a lower BF year round? I've seen a lot of physique competitors who never seem to get above 10%.
