I was at the INBA Mr. Los Angeles/Mr. Hollywood Natural bodybuilding contest last weekend. For the physique round, when the men came out for their individual "walks", the judge called out some standard bodybuilding poses: front and rear double bis, front and rear lat spreads, and also an intercostal shot. They skipped Most Muscular and of course any leg-specific poses.
I'm not sure what the exact criteria is for judging Men's Physique (is anyone?) but from a spectator standpoint it did make things a little more interesting. As least these guys did something other than walk across a stage. I'm not sure they should hit the same poses as the big boys, but I think the division would be helped a lot if they did some sort of posing beyond the model shots.
Anyone else been to physique comps with flexing? Think it would help?
