How exactly do they do it?
I've made more gains in the past three months on ICF than I did in the previous year on a typical bro split.
Does it just have to do with different body types?

By a bro split, im guessing you mean a split that only trains a body part 1x a week. You can make gains on this "bro split". Period. This is were the word "optimal" comes into play. Training a body part once a week isnt the best for a natural. However dont think that just because of this, you will not make any gains. As long as ones nutrition is in check, gains will occur. I hope this isnt a troll and i just wasted my fcking time typing this out
