Not to mention women, who absolutely love men who have style and dress well. And by well, I don't mean looking like a phag, I mean looking aesthetic as fuk, just like these men in magazines and model photoshoots who we admire in this thread.

Having good taste, aka style is the main thing you want to have. But with all due respect, 95% of people here don't have it. I'm sure this will be taken as an insult but it shouldn't be. I was there once myself and things have changed dramatically for me over the last several years, it can change for anyone.
When you are surrounded by people who can't dress for chit, it's hard to realize that you are dressing like chit as well. I only realized I had no taste when I visited Italy, Rome specifically. 10 minutes after I landed, I saw that 99% of men, even 70 year olds dressed 100 times better than me, even old fat men with yellow pants somehow managed to pull it off and looked good, that's called style. The whole stereotype of Italian men dressing like homos is so stupid, especially when you see it with your own eyes. It's hard to explain, but these fukers know how to dress and it changed my view as well, raised my bar when it comes to clothing.

If you think about it, years ago, most Americans laughed at the idea of having a slim fitted suit, or fitted clothing in general. I remember perfectly how it was called "phaggy", now you are all riding the the "slim look" dick, it took you only 10 years to catch up. But even though you caught up a little, other parts of the world have progressed even further so you'll always going to be behind no matter, that's why some outfits and ideas are not understood here
This is a fukken good post man, repped.

Literally epitomises the whole reason I got into dressing better.

I on the other hand like the stacking. It looks weird when big guys have "short" pants => little to no break. Usually you see skinny guys wearing slim suits have little to no break on their pants and it looks great, but for bigger dudes it can really look comical.

    Strong jcrew spend.

Loved Japan - bit of everything for any traveller. The shopping and food can fit any budget but I think you would want to have a bit of coin to enjoy it to the fullest. Had about 8 days in Tokyo, 2 in Osaka and 2 in Kyoto. Would have liked to have done a few more days in Kyoto though. Eating sushi and ramen every day would satisfy me for the rest of my life.

My favourite shops/brands were Urban Research and Journal Standard (one of their more affordable labels). Uniqlo is super cheap in Japan and has some good gear. Really liked Muji altho it isn't the cheapest shop in Japan - most of the clothing seemed good quality. ABC Mart is a pretty solid shoe store - especially for Red Wings and Chippewas both of which I have barely ever seen in Aus. Yodobashi Camera flagship store in Akihabara is unbelievable - save a lot on quality headphones and other electronics, as well as having a huge watch collection.

I just got my first business casual job, and I start Tuesday. I want to get at least two pairs of pants and two shirts. Any tips on what I should get as far as brands/stores go? Also, what are the most versatile colors? I already have dark grey slacks and a white button down. I live in a big city, so I can probably get to just about any store you can think of (in the US).

Zara, it's an XL basic relaxed fit, which is still tight. Fits perfect, I'm going back to buy more today.

Hey guys, you guys have some sick watches on here, so I thought I'd ask for an opinion. I'm debating for two watches I could get for about the same price: The Orient Explorer and the Tissot Tradition:

which one do you guys like best? I dress business casual and/or casual most of the time...wear a lot of v-necks and ocbds..chelsea boots and wolverine 1k..peacoat in the winter.

Also, the coat that Sami posted is amazing!

Working through my shoe purchases to see what to keep and what should go. My thumbs are sore from trying on shoes. I'm still on the first phase of trying them out to make sure they fit and are comfy and then I'll move on to making sure I have complimentary outfits. I sometimes have a bad habit of buying a piece that fits well and looks nice that I end up never wearing because it doesn't fit with everything else. Probably only going to keep 3-5 pairs total.

P.s: You should consider talking to someone. 16 shoes purchase?

recently picked up this sweater from J. Crew. (http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/s...6247/B6247.jsp)

looking for second opinions on it (i know the shoulder patches will probably be polarizing)
