    Yeahh... On both accounts lads. Not to ease pain but to grip my thumb lol and straps would likely be a better idea, if not for pl reasons.

    So, i was trying to get a meet legal grip that doesn't piss my shoulder off, and the tape is because I've got stubby little thumbs on little
    girly hands ☺️

    After some old Injuries, full supination is basically impossible with my left hand and if I go under with my right, the shoulder is sketchy to say the least.

    So I try to limit how much I pull mixed grip as much as I can. Not against straps, but I can't pull with them In Comp. But I'll likely pull volume strapped and singles ect mixed as I've never missed a pull mixed from grip that I could lock.

    Was also attempting to relearn the snatch at that point, but that's a complete no go, like catching a clean. Wrists can't deal. High pulls are great tho!

    Yeah you both have/will compete...that does change things...from a practical standpoint I don't see much difference between hook grip and straps, really, I mean from a training perspective for strength there isn't...but competition says no straps and not everybody wants to or can alt grip

    For just lifting, there really isn't much difference I agree 1000%

    Different ways to physically lock the bar to the hand without needing to actually be strong enough to "grip it" so to speak.. One uses a strip of materiall, the other a pained thumb ☺️

    On a side note, regular, chalked double over is totally favourite way to work ☺️

    I progressed quite a bit, particularly on the areas where I had been lacking previously, e.g., back. The trick is to follow the program AS WRITTEN. Don't overlook things that you might at first think are counter-intuitive, like resetting when you're supposed to. I loved this program. Between the novice, and the intermediate U/L, I was on it for over a year.

    Hello.
    I will start The Intermediate Upper/Lower
    I have few questions
    1.Will it be a problem if i add one exercise for triceps on Upper A and one exercise for biceps on Upper B and how to do them(Curls 3x10/Reverse Flies 3x12 Superset and after that triceps exercise or???) and Face Pulls 3x12/Tricep pressdowns 3x10 Superset and after that biceps exercise or ??
    2.What curls?Whatever I want?
    3.With what can i replace leg press,Weighted Back Extensions because i dont have them where im training

    I normally pull mixed grip, But just for the sake of pulling I'm trying to learn the hook grip method and I have yet to invest in straps. Maybe soon I'll invest.

    I also want to eventually get rid of mixed grip so I don't have to worry about any imbalances from pulling mixed grip.

    hey, theres something i dont understand with the intermediate upper/lower routine schedule.

    it says : "You’ll add 5 lbs to all of your upper body lifts* and 10lbs to all of your lower body lifts every 2 weeks. After 1 week increase the reps by 1 on every set. Ex: Instead of doing bench 3x5 you'll do 3x6. At the end of that week weight increases and the reps will drop back down to 3x5."

    I finished my first week, which means for the next week i'm going to increase the reps by 1 for every set.
    after that second week finishes, i'm going to drop back the reps to 3x5, but I didnt increase the weights yet ? How am i supposed to reset both reps and weights?

    Regarding the 4 day upper/lower split...

    I love deadlifts. Where can I squeeze it in? Would it be fine to do a straight swap with RDL for DL and drop it down to 3x5? I'd ideally like to keep squatting twice a week. Also where could I put dips in?

    I have searched and couldn't find an answer - just that there needs to be a rest day before and after DL day.

    Resetting = taking weight off the bar because you got stuck, don't use the word reset when talking about adding weight/progressing.

    You do exactly what you quoted. Literally, exactly that

    Week 1: 3x5
    Week 2: 3x6
    Week 3: +5/10 lbs 3x5
    Week 4: 3x6
    Week 5: +5/10 lbs 3x5
    Week 6: 3x6

    And so on

    As normally it would be switched FS+RDL for DL and Curls, however on the 4 day split theres already curls in there?
