Like I said you don't really know what you're talking about. SharePoint involves a suite of Microsoft products not just something you click install and go.*Only watch shows with no commercials Crew*

Yep cost of living is high in VA. Lots of SP admins inherit farms and don't really have to do anything. I build and administer from the ground up. $100k here doesn't get you that far.

OP, here's what you do.
1.) Learn how to fix cars. (go to trade school, work for a mechanic...however you can do it)
2.) Find a place where a bunch of rich *******s live in SC ( yeah they out, just research a little)
3.) Open up a garage and fix cars ( get one of them there business loans )
4.) Make $200/hr in poverty (aka god's country) south
5.) Profit*** Always reps back CREW ***

I do, but I went to college and been working my job for years.
Stop focusing on the amount of money and focus more on the location, If I lived in Manhattan I would be on that poverty time making 20+. If I lived in nowhere Alaska I would be holding nightly Meth jamborees with that much moneySkepticism is the chastity of the intellect, and it is shameful to surrender it too soon or to the first comer: there is nobility in preserving it coolly and proudly through long youth, until at last, in the ripeness of instinct and discretion, it can be safely exchanged for fidelity and happiness

Lol @ you throwing around acronyms that are specific to your industry and expecting anyone to know wtf you're talking about.
Like I said, sharepoint CAN get complicated, i just found it unlikely he'd have a title of sharepoint admin (implying he isn't doing those complicated functions) and making 100k+ but his location explained that---------------Misc Bet Crew---------------

It's not the fact that it's sharepoint. It's what people use the sharepoint for. You want 100% up time or you're ****ed.
The acronyms I listed are major US government IT sharepoint sites. It's not some bakery or small business. You don't want some pimply faced miscer making $15 an hour running something thousands of people rely on every day, some of which caters to serious national security functions.
Considering the poster is from NOVA/DC, he's probably either working on a government project or something as equally important if he's making $100k a year as a sharepoint admin.
Have fun explaining to Congress why your cheap labor practices lead to something like the Veterans Affairs sharepoint being down for a significant amount of time.Last edited by sknot1454; 07-02-2014 at 10:57 AM.

Damn, that must be a poverty bar. The bartenders at the bar I bounced at in college were making stripper money, srs. Like $400-$600 on an average night wed-Saturday and Sundays during football season.
Dated one of them and she literally just had a drawer with over $10grand at her apartment because she was too lazy to deposit it. Going out to dinner? Brb she'd just grab a handful of cash indiscriminately and smash it in her purse.*True Detective Crew*

In other words, you work sharepoint daily and the above is how you justify your importance? Fair enough. Just keep in mind I wouldn't consider sharepoint a transferable skill. Also, everyone you work with views you as some data entry nerd. Not the reality, i know, but its not a highly respected position amongst your peers
