    Ah gotcha. I find Lower/Upper exercises equally challenging, although I will say that doing heavy 5x5 squatting REALLY helped my overall power output and climbing skills.

    Climbing? I think I started my RD with a heavy modified SS and then converted to an upper/low 4x a week. Two days of each. Dunno what I'm going to do when I get back. Frankly I doubt I could ever squat 400+ again.

    Check my old posts in the threads Jason had. 400 isn't impressive when you weigh over 200 lb. Oh that climbing. I thought you meant like rock climbing. You do what, low gear for torque or something? I remember around the time I got back here and we started talking, I began looking into videos about road biking. Like you could select a decent gear and go up a huge hill without a lot of effort. True? I did then watch videos of bikers going down mountains at like 45-60 MPH.

    Had a spot removed on my back. Took a pretty decent chunk out, so I'm working back into deadlifting. 525x2. I think the highest I've hit is 585 for a double so I'm a ways off, but this felt smooth and pretty easy.

    Edit: apparently I was being slow. Thanks everyone. Recovery has been fine. Nothing serious, but ended up taking roughly 2 months off DLing and over a month off of back work. Crappy family genes, but as long as I stay on top of it then nothing serious should come of it.

    IME, waiting so long before I actually squat only makes me lose tightness. I get completely ready before I put the bar on my back. Once it's on, I make sure I'm tight, then I'm pretty much starting into my squat.

    any preference between sumo or conventional? Your lifts all look awesome though. Fun to see your on your 4th cycle of 531 already.




    Hit 305 for 3 doubles on squats today. Proceeded to hit 365x4 and 370x3 on beltless deads afterwards. I've been really focused on upper back tightness on deadlifts, and while it makes it feel slow off the floor, once its up, there's no doubt that its going to lock out.

    YOU ONLY YOLO ONCE

    But srs, when I first was coming up with this, I had planned on doing 3 on 3 off ( yes that would have meant squats and bench on consecutive days, but bench on squat day is low volume and squats on bench day are super low volume) and I wanted the day off to follow deadlifting (especially since I knew I would get DOMS re-inserting the conventional deadlift into it). But now that settled on doing 1 on 1 off, it really wouldn't have matter how I ordered the days.

    But srs, when I first was coming up with this, I had planned on doing 3 on 3 off ( yes that would have meant squats and bench on consecutive days, but bench on squat day is low volume and squats on bench day are super low volume) and I wanted the day off to follow deadlifting (especially since I knew I would get DOMS re-inserting the conventional deadlift into it). But now that settled on doing 1 on 1 off, it really wouldn't have matter how I ordered the days.
    Ahh ok that make's sense. I actually like benching and squatting on consecutive days when the intensity is managed correctly. Last month I would squat some light triples the day before heavy doubles. IDK why, but it felt like it helped the double's day big time.

    Not really. Both are enjoyable.

    Typically I'll pull conventional, just because it's what I'm used to...but it's nice to throw in some variation and it made for a seriously killer workout by doubling all sets and pulling 1 set of each.

    Yeah, I'm enjoying it.
    It's a great program and it's nice to actually see some serious (and structured) progression with my main lifts.
