This isn't about cardio this is about lifting!

So I think it's time to work on my deadlift form. Considering going back to conventional straight leg since I know how easier to set that up. I can't see to get consistent form with wide-stance.

I'll write my own critques later but I'm about to head out. Here's two articles that I think are pretty helpful, but just keep in mind its written from a powerlifting perspective (although I don't think deadlifts are really any different for powerlifters vs bodybuilders)

Unfortunately i'm not good at critique so i'm gonna edit that part of your post out.

Cardio I do think will always help...if not for good health or just good mental health.

That's one of the narrowest sumo stances I've ever seen. Try opening your stance up, pointing your toes out more. The main advantage to sumo is you are able to keep more upright, but you are losing most of that with your narrow stance.

Hey! Welcome back. I'm still doing good on ICF.

Anyway, yeah I'm reading the articles monkay posted and that's the first thing I noticed, my hips are not close to wide enough.

EDIT: I recall attempting this once and my freakin' heels still out from under me, I'll try it again before considering different footwear. lol

Can confirm that long distance running made me drop muscle like crazy.. made me wind up from this (all at 16 y/o).. during that phase I was averaging 65-70mi a week.

Probably averaged around 2-2.5k a day. But the running pushed my deficit in the 800s-1,000s.

What's everyones thoughts on the first rep? It looks like his hips shoot up quite a bit right at the start...

I had some hip discomfort a while back and I watched an older video of mine and that was the only thing that stuck out to me as being potentially 'wrong', and I thought that might have been the cause of my discomfort...

Thanks for the feedback. I think I need to widen my stance enough that I can maintain a 90 degree knee angle, this should start my hips off much lower.

Gonna try for 255 on the 5th to put some people in their place. Not sure if I'll be successful but I'm going to try regardless.

It wasn't as much feedback as it was me using your post to ask a question of my own lol

Wondering if/how improper raising your hips like that actually is.

    Nice set.

I'm not saying this to restart any arguments or restate my opinions; but I wouldn't 'try for 255 to put some people in their place'. The people that don't believe you'll reach your goals, mostly just believe you were understating your original lifts. So whether you hit your goal lifts or not won't actually have any effect on that, and it won't win anyone over. I'm all for progress and pushing yourself, but don't do it because your ego tells you to...do it if you really want to.

I didn't fraud any lifts. Everything you've seen up to this point is because I train hard and I have a lot of noob gains. Not to mention all the mobility work I've been doing.

Edit: I only went for 235 today because I knew I had it in me. If I feel I have 255 in me on the 5th, I'll try it. Who knows, I may even hit 260. You have to admit, it's getting harder and harder for anyone to refute my maxes. That was 100% effort for 3 reps. Anyone who watches the video with volume can see and hear that. The evidence is staring everyone in the face, they just have to open their eyes and look back.

I think you missed the point of my post...

I wasn't trying to call you out anymore than you have been already. I was just saying don't lift for other people, lift for yourself. Ego will come and go but the weight will always be there waiting to be lifted.

I do lift for myself. Chitting on trolls left and right is just an added bonus. Bazinga.

Edit: In all seriousness though.... There was no ego involved here. Those were 3 nearly perfect executed reps.
