Not as bad as what recently happened to me, turns out BT waterblocks for the asus impact VI are not compatible with impact Viis despite a few sources on the internet saying otherwise

$200 inc shipping from performancepcs in Florida, no other online shop in the world sells it, no vii waterblocks available
Ordered the right one this time directly from Bitspower Taiwan, thankgod they had someone who could speak good english, now im just hoping it actually turns up

Bummer that it doesn't fit. Try down clocking the graphics card a bit, how are the temps? I had black screens, driver crashes in gta 5, loss of screen display, switching to the second dvi fixed the issues so maybe I have a bum card. Have you tried running prime 95 blend to see if system is stable?

temps are good but i havent run prime 95, so ill give that a shot once i installed the new PSU.

i think my last ditch option will be to simply RMA the card.

Shouldn't the threads in an i5 3570k show up in task manager under performance as a logical processor (or multiple logical processors)?



It says visualization disabled - does that mean hyperthreading - and if it does - is it to be enabled in bios?

I would run prime 95 blend with sim input checking and error checking (right by eachother in advanced tab). The system might be unstable, plus I would experiment with overclocking it before the new cpu. I would go with option one for now, I think that cpu might be unlock able but there is no telling if it will be stable.

Thanks bro. The system definitely has some stability issues with random reboots and freezes. I used to have it overclocked to 3.7GHz when it was my main rig back when I first built it (like 8 years ago). I gave it to my Dad when I built my current rig, but I took it back not too long ago after I built him a new one. I tried overclocking it again using the same settings I used to use and it wouldn't even boot.

But I've decided I'm going with option 2. I picked up a Intel G3258 from Fry's for $49 (would be $39 if I had one close, but no go). Need to get a mobo and ram yet, but I think I'll wait till BF and see what comes up cheap. Should have <$200 in it though when it's all said and done, which is better than expected.

Do yourself a favor and grab a Sound Blaster Z sound card and some Audio Technica A900X or Beyerdynamics DT 990's for gaming/music/movies. It's my favorite upgrade (tied with 1440p IPS monitor)

Great game TBH; you can pick it up or play the others first- the stories are not really related so it wouldn't be confusing but I would play 3, NV, then 4 just because 3 was the best (IMO) and you can get them cheap. From there if you like them you can get 4, if not than you are only out a few dollars rather than ~$40.

Seems like a pretty GOAT game (picking it up quite fast as i realise its very similar to skyrim), i feel like there isnt enough time in the world to do everything this game has to offer so hopefully it should keep me entertained for a while. Im like level 10 and dying constantly on regular difficulty though which can get frustrating, not sherriff the games hard or im just chit.

660 also runs it fine, so i dont need to upgrade my card, but i still might have to get a 970...

Before i pull the trigger, i remember hearing about coil whine on 970's when they were new. Is this still a problem? Is a TwinFrozr a decent choice? my current 660 is twinfrozr and ive been happy with it so happy to buy twinfrozr again if they dont have any problems

Double edit: I know the 970 is still fairly new, anyone know or can predict (based on past gaps between generations) when the next line of cards will be out?
