They’re fun trucks with a posi.
I’ve had 3 OBS’. 97 GMC Z71, 98 Chevy Z71 and a 96 C1500 my buddies dad custom ordered. It had 3.73s and a g80. Ran a 15.8X Not fast but for an old pickup quick enough, and great at burnouts lol

My most recent 98 from when I listed it for sale.

This one just has the 305 which makes it sorta a gas saver at 18mpg lol.

I love the old green. I really want a em1 civic as a new daily but also want to find a 4wd obs have a lowered and lifted one. The trucks are simple to work on and parts are stupid cheap.

When the 305 goes if it ever does I'll build a mild 350 to throw in it. Mail order tune and be done. Would ls swap but a mild 350 build is cheap and still plenty fun to drive I don't race anyone anymore I drive slow and just cruise.

My 97 made me fall in love with the 350. 330lb ft at 1800 rpms on TSLs makes for a lot of burnouts
The ricers didn’t expect a truck to be able to keep up either who he as fun too
And LS swaps are cool but semi complicated.
When I bought my 98 I wanted to go a full retro build. Chrome push bar with KCs and eventually a 383.

I love mine. My daugher calls it her truck truck lol.

I'm in my 30s graduated HS in 05. so these trucks used when I was in school but still un affordable for my family. Something about driving vehicles from the 90s the nostalgia the memories. Plus they keep me out of a car payment and there super cheap to fix. Only regret i have about mine so far I've done alot of uprades should have done a android auto radio

Spent the day doing track prep for 2 day event we are doing in a few weeks. A good friend of mine is renting out a track a few states away for two days. He has RV's brought in and has catering for both days. We just have to show up with our car and run open track for 2 days. It will just be a small group of 15 of us. Open track both days. My son will not be feeling well so will have to miss those days of school

We did fresh oil and flushed trans fluid. We found the limit of our brake pads last event. We are running a track compound with a 1200f limit. I just put in one more level of aggressive pads and these have a 1400 deg usable temp limit. Truth be told, I was being hard on the brakes on purpose as last event we were experiencing a soft pedal about 15 min into running. I fully flushed the system but wanted to make damn sure we didnt get any brake fade as my son now drives the car by himself.

Super excited to make some great memories!

Brother picked up a 2022 Lamborghini STO.
