Theres an upcoming indy game very similar to the gore and dark fighting game of mk and is using mocap...didnt look too good. Looked cheesey in this day of age.

meh trailer was meh. looked good but you know its not real gameplay. plus its cross platform with last gen so you know graphics wont be anything amazing.

fighting looked like more of the same, which I suppose isnt a bad thing but still.. could use a refresher.

Updated: Ed Boon confirmed that MK10 would have new characters, game modes, and an all new graphics engine in a recent statement.

Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilize the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet. The official PlayStation YouTube channel uploaded the Mortal Kombat 10 announcement trailer today, but they included some previously unknown details in the clip's description.

Most notably that Mortal Kombat 10 will have multiple variations of each character, and that feature will change the strategy and fighting style of the combatants.

The last major detail is that the game features a "persistent online contest," where apparently every battle is logged as part of some ranking system.

Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever.

For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style.

And with a new fully-connected gameplay experience, players are launched into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy.

Judging by the trailer, they're are most likely going to be intractable stages. Also, NRS is one of the most supportive fighting game developers out there. ****, only a couple of weeks ago they were adding to the pot bonus of UFGT. Colt, Paulo, and Hector (while he was still there) post on TYM. They run streams and even have days set-up to fight the developers. I don't see how this trailer implies they forgot.

Also a lot of people are saying the footage is both in game + CGI.

mk is always a consistently smart, upgraded game every time one is released. as opposed to street fighter and how in 20 years there have only been 4 sequels but 10000 small updates between them all

Alot of you guys are crazy and missing out. Mk9 was such a great games, fresh and competitive.
it was also pretty fast paced with the dashing and chip damage.
