    Juicing??

    I just stated a new diet for a cut. I want to get down to 200 from 236 now. In the past the wife would make me "juice" to cleanse and I'm wondering if I can incorporate that into my diet. Trying to really cut calories and drop all the fat. Juice usually contains various greens, carrots, ginger, beats, celery, etc etc. Outside of calories would this mess up my diet or is it a safe meal replacement?

    Fat is an essential macro-nutrient so dropping it isn't exactly a smart idea. Also, your juicing diet would have you deficient in protein.

    I have friends who " juice " for periods of time. After a few weeks they are pretty miserable and usually binge and put the weight back on

    luckily I was born with a functional liver and there for don't need to "cleanse" my body. tough break op. see if you can find one on the online?

    Or you could make a pretty nice salad out of all that, add some meat, oil and vinegar and have a real meal....and actually feel like your eating, which I think is important on a cut? This will also teach you how to compose a diet made up of meals that contain these "magic" ingredients that are surprisingly STILL effective when eaten rather than juiced. You might even be able to do this long term (i.e for life) if approached logically.

    As long as you count the carbs/etc into your macro count, adding one of those juices she makes a day is a great way to get your vitamins but I would still eat whole foods to make sure your protein and fats are sufficient too.

    Why is adding juice a good way of getting vitamins as opposed to whole foods? Are vitamins not in the whole food sources of protein and fats? Are protein and fats ok or better in juiced form ?
