    What's with the obsession of people who skip leg day?

    My legs are pretty chit compared to my upper body, I do train legs, but not as much as I should. Why are so many people obsessed with correcting people like me? If I don't value the importance of big quads that's my choice. If not entering a contest, people should be allowed to train what they want when they want without comments from "bros" with their science and chit memes.

    because it's stupid not to train your legs. i can almost guarantee you once you start lifting heavy weights on squats and deadlifts you'll enjoy lower body day more than upper srs

    I love working legs, but I have no issue with people who don't. That's their prerogative. The ironic thing about people who make fun of others with small legs... They're usually "powerlifting", squat fanatics who look like absolute **** at 20%+ bf.

    I don't squat very heavy because I messed my back up squatting too heavy, was out the gym for a few months. I just train them enough so they won't grow out of proportion to the rest of my body, which I reckon is enough. To be frank I don't like training them, the intensity is too much. End of a leg workout is when I'm most likely to throw up or fall down the stairs leaving the gym.

    Cause my upper body is weak as fuk so my legs are all I've got going for me....srsly though hate seeing this chit and all the "I love leg day" posts. Bish you do a couple sets of body weight squats and deadlift a 20lb kettle bell a few times. I'd love leg day too if that's all it took.

    same goes for squatting ATG rather than a decent parallel or just above. If the average person doesnt have the desire to work for mobility and really nail down form they do put them self at risk. parallel squats are still an incredible exercise but among elitists it become an opportunity to belittle.

    If people choose to skip leg day, I could honestly care less. Its their body, let them do with it what they want.

    However, I think choosing not to train legs limits your physique. You cant build a house on a chitty foundation. That's what your legs are.

    It also leaves you looking disproportionate. Go ahead and tell me these guys dont look strange...





    The guy that hits legs hard is going to have an increased metabolic rate, better core strength, and more overall size and strength compared to the guy that doesnt, if all other things are equal. Squats dont just build quads/hams/glutes, they develop core muscles. Deadlifts are great for back thickness. Front squats are a great core exercise. If you stay flexible, you'll be able to run faster, jump higher, etc.

    There are a lot of people that can bench press 300+ pounds. Some of them are big, some of them arent. I've never seen a small dude (Muscularity wise) squat 405+ or deadlift 495+.

    In order to hit those numbers, you have to train right, and train hard.

    Only if you have a gigantic upper body and twig legs does it deserve criticism.

    Maybe the person is injured though.

    It's massive here in Brazil, cos people wear shorts down to their calves, so no one sees their thighs. So half the people don't bother with legs.

    Also it's easy to injure yourself squatting/deadlifting really heavy so for me, unless you're competing, just do enough to look in proportion.

    Not doing legs at all indicates a plain ignorance of weightlifting in general and contributes to the idea that guys who go to the gym are just trying to develop muscles to impress girls any nothing more. Anyone who is actually concerned with strength, athleticism, bodily health, bodybuilding, etc understands the value in developing your lower body.

    You're completely right. But further still, if they're right and someone has undertrained their legs, not their place to comment.

    Yeah, I agree. If someone doesn't want to do something, that's their prerogative; doesn't make me lose any sleep unless they're doing something that interferes with my workout for a stupid reason, like needing a squat rack to do something like 1 plate shrugs.
