Verdict is still out on Madgibbs imo, it's solid though and will be top 5 this year.

Sorry OP. Roughly 10 years ago anyway.

Even discounting Madvillainy.. Freddie Gibbs + Madlib, Black up by Shabazz Palaces would top Good Kid imo. Can see why Good Kid appeals to more people though, it was a great album.

I've been obsessed with Kendrick Lamar's album for almost 6 months. the storytelling, the complex rhyming, the themes, the skits... the album is perfect. it's really introspective, it shows great intelligence and it doesn't conform to the industry's current "tastes". I just can't think of a better rap album in the past decade. do you brahs agree?

It's really grown on me. First listen I was a bit disappointed, but it's got better with each successive listen for me. I think the last track is overly long but I'm digging the rest of the album.

Kendrick live is a bit of a letdown for me. I hate the way he cuts off all his verses and skips words randomly, it sounds lazy as fuk when he could just be rapping the same as the album.

I agree with you brah. Kendrick Lamar became my favorite rapper of all time. I love good kid m.A.A.d city but i think Section 80 is just a tad bit better imo. Either way his music is amazing.

Same, I feel GKMC is better put together conceptually, but Section 80 had better songs.

you might not like it, but you can't say it's overrated. even if you take out his lyrical ability and leave only the story he tells, you have an amazing album.

he's a great storyteller, add to that his lyrical craftsmanship and you have a classic.

To anyone who's heard it, this is the obvious choice. I do think maad city is a great album though and certainly up there.

I'm a 90's rap junkie and discarded Kendrick as another awful rapper like Kanye,Modern Jay Z etc etc simply because he was 'modern'

I was so, so wrong haven't listened to him extensively but he is fantastic, absolutely outclasses EVERY single rapper now by miles, he is fantastic

Macklemore ******* getting the award over him is the biggest award injustice since Shawshank didn't win an Oscar or Wire not winning any accolades
