I'll be the first person to say the super cartooney graphics were a huge turn off for me and I really never thought I'd be into this game but the more I play with it, read about it, look into it, the more excited I am for it. I've said it alot this week but ill say it again, at this point I'd take a game with 1990's graphics that didn't have any volume over the horrible content-less bugfest games that have been getting pushed out where they spent their entire budgets on voice acting, graphics, and commercials rather than...you know...actual content.

I thought it was going to be super cheesy and little-kiddy but I was happily surprised when I hit level 2 in beta and a huge "YOU LEVELED" thing popped on my screen as a dude yelled at me "OHHH SH!T YOU LEVELED" making me re-think my stance on this game feeling like it was for 8 years olds. I had to chuckle as words like "Badass" and "Sh!t" got thrown around.


Game is releasing with basically everything I want in a game, legit endgame raids, battlegrounds, largescale pvp, arenas, housing, there really isnt anything that I want out of a game that this doesn't have so I'm pretty stoked now.


Who knows, it may end up being a colossal bomb like every other MMO in the last couple years but at the very least IF IT DOES BOMB, it will be for completely new reasons. It wont be because of the same mistakes made, and remade, and remade, by the last 3 "WoW Killer" MMO's. I'll be the first to admit that I was one of the biggest ESO fanboys screaming about how awesome it looked, and ill be the first to admit how wrong I was and how FOR ME its time to move on.




So yea, lets talk Wildstar.

What class you gonna play OP? I tried Spellslinger mostly with a little trial of Stalker/Engi. Didn't make a final choice yet though. It seems you need to stay still to cast for most of the ranged classes which put me off them.

Was in surgery so didnt get to try more during open beta like i'd planned. In for thoughts on each class (?).

Yeah that's what I first thought. At first glance I passed on it because of the graphics, but then I ended up playing beta for a bit because some friends were hyping it up.

I think it has potential. Looks like they know what they're doing and PvP looks badass, especially excited for open world PvP.

Pre-ordered it a while back. We'll see how it goes, but I'm excited.

Actually very hyped for this, really like the combat! Just not sure which class to roll yet, wanted to roll an engineer but i heard bots are pretty stupid :-(

Kind of interested in trying it out BUT I've also felt the same way about Rift, GW2, ESO ect and I keep going back to WoW. The game looks like its got everything i'd want in a game and the raids looks pretty badass.

How's healing in the game?

I'm going Stalker because I always try to play the closest thing to a "Rogue/Melee ***", have always played that style since Everquest.

Found this for my heal bros. Some of the look pretty cool....spellslinger heals by basically attacking friendly targets AKA I'm gunna shoot you in the face and heal you.

I think I may roll an esper or medic...Esper looks like a traditional Priest type healer and Medic looks kinda like a pally.

From what I've read and from talking to various elitists it sounds like people wont even be attempting the 40 man raid content for like 4 months because of various progression blocks which is kind of refreshing.


Nice to see they are going live with a plan for endgame.

Played the beta.

Not really excited for it. Maybe I've just grown out of MMOs since WoW. I'd rather play ESO than WS. srs

I tried WildStar...couldn't get into it no matter how hard I tried. I wanted to so bad, as the core game is awesome and thinking about it makes me want to try again but I know it won't help. Just cannot get past the cartoon/dialogue aspect. You know when you play a game and it just doesn't "feel" right at all, basically had that the whole time. WoW was the limit of my cartoonish graphics, and at least it kept the actual dialogue etc in a more serious tone. Odds are I return to WoW when WoD hits.

But if there is ever a free trial or someone gets a free trial to send to a friend and wants to PM it to me, I'd give it another go.

What level did you get to? Game gets really fun at lvl
20 when you can do your first dungeon, if you can stick with it til than I think most will enjoy it.

Explain? I haven't really looked around those kinds of communities for years. Can't imagine a world where they wouldn't be chasing farm status within weeks. What kind of blocks?

I didn't make it to 20 in beta but it just felt off. But screw it, I'm gonna drop the $ and play early access and force myself to at least level 25 to see if I change my mind or get used to it. It's really just the visual aspect of the game and the running/movement feels strange to me. I would love to have an MMO I can play for more than 2 or 3 weeks like the years I spent in WoW. I don't care for leveling that much - if it's cool then great - but if it's just decent then that's fine because I'm cruising to max level to pvp and raid. Too many new MMOs focus way too much on the leveling.

With that said, what class you guys rolling and which faction? I'm look at Dominion, either Stalker, Warrior, or Engineer.

Also, any idea if down the road they will be adding more diverse weapons? I know it'd be a lot of work animation wise but seeing swords on stalkers would be cool.

Though to be fair, I played WS for about 3 months in beta and though it was technically sound, it just never grabbed me as a great game.

Yup, check the 4th post, i threw up a countdown timer for convenience.

Bear in mind it likely won't go super smoothly, a lot of launches don't. Could be worth going to bed early and waking up early on Saturday to play. 9am my time is the launch so i don't have that issue, for once.

Me and my friends are rolling on exile on widow pvp server, was a hardcore pvper in wow got couple of gladiator title.

in on Widow server, definitely the most badass name so hopefully all hardcore pvpers go there. i loved the competition on lightning's blade back in WoW before it got chitty, so hoping there's some more open world pvp in this game
