hey y'all!
deads for days.
i am getting back in the spirit of things. thanks for the support. man, those deadlifts tore me up the next day, too. yesterday i had traps screaming at me. haha
today is day five low carb, so energy levels were not optimal, but i still had fun.
bench press
barx10
65x5
90x5
100x5
110x3
110x3
120x3
120x3
120x3
120x3
120x3
Squats
60x5
90x5
130x3
130x3
155x3
160x1
160x2
160x2
160x2
the 160's are supposed to be triples, but i just didn't have it in me. i didn't push it to failure, but i came *this* close with one of them. my squat just plain stopped for a few seconds on the way up and there was an internal debate going on. my heart finally won out over my brain.
Bench Press with chains
I had a couple 10's on the bar and added the chains. at first it was the full load of chains, which i *think* is 80 lbs. it was definitely heavy. i did a single, and then a couple triples and failed on a 4th rep. i reduced the chains by removing one wrap around on each side and then finished up in sets of 3-5 for a total of 30 reps, with a couple failures in there.

Everytime you post a workout with the prowler, this song pops into my head and I can't get rid of it....

When life hands you lemons... ask for something higher in protein.
The weight is a hammer and the bench an anvil. That which happens between both forms and shapes us, showing our true mettle.

I swear someone just posted something similar like a week ago, they lost an inch. I'm 5'6" but I lie on my drivers license and say I'm 5'7" srs, if I ever rob a Honeybaked Ham they'll never be able to properly identify me. (Their bbq sauce is incredible by the way, that stuff is a Christmas miracle in itself, just sayin.)
Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

LOL you have now passed that along into my brain. hi loch!
clever ham.
i am really ridiculously upset about that inch. i only had that inch for a year. i spent my adult life knowing i was 5'6" and then a doctors office said NOPE 5'7"! i fell for their lies.
i failed on the carb cycling. i have tried just about every kind of diet there is now. i keep trying something... anything, but regular old calorie counting with adequate protein intake and i keep failing. i am back to just counting calories and keeping my head in the game on a day to day basis. i still really would like to get to 198 by november.

Oh yeah!! Hey did you guys ever stop to think HOW the first ruler/measuring stick/tape measure in history was created? That blows my mind when I think about stuff like that and it honestly overwhelms me at times. And what were people weighing initially to say object X = what we're gonna call 1 pound??? So what if there was some doctors scale making company that since the year 1800 just didn't have their measurements right and they were telling everybody they were really taller than they actually are? For over 200 years! Ahhhh!!!

WOOT! i had a tng of 132 at the meet, but i'm only sort of counting it. i am pretty sure i have 135, and 70% sure i have 140. no more testing for now, though. gotta wait a bit.
wheeeee! maybe someday i can get a 1rep PR of what you bench any day of the week during warm ups. it's all i ask, lord! lol
LOL!!!! i tried to change it, but couldn't sort it and am not gonna go out of my way to figure it out. haha. so here i will be 5'7"
things to ponder, starring hammy. LOL
i'm trying. some days chicken and some days feathers. this week has been mostly chickens. feelsgoodman.jpg
yes! i feel good, thanks, vanillabean!
my older son did some deadwifting today. awwww! and some tire flips and he smsashed up a wood pallet with a sledgehammer. he had a blast.

squat
stretching
barx5
85x5
110x5
135x4
add belt
150x3x2
170x3x5
170 triples all went fine. tough but fine. my rest times were never more than 3 minutes, so i am moving up to 175 as my working weight next starting friday.
bench press
75x5
90x5
105x3x2
115x3x5
felt weak on bench today, so changed my working weight to 115. i have overestimated my 1rm. if i am working with 120x3x5 that is 80% of 150. on friday, i did 125x3x5, which was wildly high for me, and am obviously still not recovered. i think i need to stay at 120 for now.
front squats
105x5x5
i am feeling more confident in my squat these days. i think i can add to it and make some progress finally. my goal is to go from 225 to 300 in one year. this means, i need to get my triples up to 215 by december. i just need to keep on track. not derail by trying to do too much too soon.
i would still like a 733 total by november, as well. it means getting my bench to 153, my squat to 240 and my deadlift to 340.
