    White potatoes Vs. Pasta

Hey guys, forgive me for jumping straight to the point but I just have a few questions about these different carb sources.
    1. Are white potatoes and pasta clean carbs (I mostly eat rice so I don't know)?
    2. What are the differences between White potatoes and pasta?
    3. What is the difference between white potatoes and sweet potatoes?
Thanks for your help and have a great day!

What type of pasta? Regular pasta? Whole wheat/Whole grain pasta?

Whole grain/whole wheat pasta is more nutritious than regular pasta. It contains more fiber & protein because wheat durum has the germ, bran, and endosperm. Refined pasta or regular pasta has those components removed. Thus, it does not have the added fiber & protein.

Mostly true but unless the packaging reads "100% whole grain durum" you will be buying a milled durum product with the bran and endosperm removed. This process increases the products shelf life at the expense of added nutrients.

This is an old thread, but...

Potatoes have much more nutrition than pasta. One thing worth noting...Most wheat used in pasta comes from Canada. Because of the short growing season, its important for the farmers to harvest before winter sets in. Thats not always easy to time, so instead of gambling on the weather and growing season, just before they want to schedule harvest they will spray the fields with Round Up. That causes the wheat to immediately start drying out. Then they have a crop ready to go without worrying about mold setting in on a damp crop. Personally, I dont want glyphosate in my diet.
