Mindly Kaling is being used as a weapon against Indians (srs).
She's ugly, and the only Indian female on TV, so people assume she represents and speaks for all Indian women. She's also somewhat relatable for North American-born Indian women, so Indian women watching it see themselves in her: she's educated, yes, but ugly (what woman doesn't think she's ugly these days?) but she LOVES white men and white men only, and she's very vocal about it, and wants to get as far away from her "oppressive" Indian roots as possible.
This influences Indian women by telling them they're ugly and undesirable, but still acceptable by white standards (and sexually fetishized like 'yellow fever'), and might have a chance at becoming acceptable if they ditched their cultural identities, thus lowering their self-esteem and encouraging them to become like Asian chicks and worship the AWC.
I can't be the only one who sees how toxic her and her show is. Fuk that bitch.

She's ****ing whiter than I am. Every single indian HBB posted here has a paler complexion than a white girl with a tan. If Indian wasn't in the thread title I wouldn't have even guessed she was Indian.
Every single black, brown, and yellow thread has women posted in it that are at least half white.

Went through entire thread and did not see ONE chick who had the combination of "looks good" and "looks indian".
Unfortunately, even the ones that were clearly 7/8 Spanish and 1/8 Indian, are only attractive in picture form.
Given they're based in India and would no doubt be made to eat food primarily consisting of spices and curries, and meat that touches the unwashed hands of four generations of women in a dusty kitchen, they would smell horrendous.
Curry, cumin, masala, etc. all seep through the pores, and the retention period (after a creatine-like loading phase that lasts 18 years, as they are fed this stuff daily until adulthood) is more than enough to cover the window until the next time they eat indian food.
I would never eat out an Indian woman, and this restriction already costs 8 points on the old tenner scale.

True, but that's pretty much one of the only positive selling points of Indian culture. Looking at its other characteristics, it brings too many to the table that are disagreeable.
Irrational competitiveness against other Indians in terms of salary/education, an extreme emphasis on education as though it's the be all and end all to life, a ridiculously rigid adherence to only very specific methods of studying (rote memorization, math - that kind of thing) and frowning upon everything else, over-inflated value on fair skin, and then segregating and designating hierarchies based upon something as derisively superficial as skin colour (LOL), denigrating any expression at all of sexuality (have a friend who was beaten silly by his dad for jacking off to porn at night. Just lol), and finally, an extremely linear, inflexible view of how life is apparently supposed to be lived; be born, study hard (by study it means memorise the fu*k out of chit and practice lots of math, then get a degree in law/medicine/engineering), work, find a bride, have kids, work more, find your kids a spouse, get old, get grandkids, and then repeat the cycle.
When you're born into an Indian family, you're born with your whole life planned out for you by someone else. You're an actor who had your life scripted for you by others, and when you challenge their idea of an ideal you, you're scorned terribly. Deviation from the typical Indian lifestyle alienates you from your own people. This isn't even getting into all the fu*king gossiping some Indians seem to subsist off of. My grandmother tells me how one of her friend's grandkids did better than me in a certain subject, and is more ambitious and stuff, and then I tell her straight in her face I don't give a flying fu*k. She's had this chit so deeply inculcated inside her that it doesn't even compute for her. She doesn't understand what I mean when I say that. It's like it's impossible for her to grasp that it's possible for one Indian to not give a fu*k about what another Indian does with his life.
I guess what I'm driving at here is that for the most part, I have nothing but disdain for several facets of Indian culture, and identify with almost none of it. The few positives that come with it also don't seem exclusive to Indian cultures at all, so when I see people lauding how great Indian culture is, I really don't get what they're on about, and it comes off more as them trying to convince themselves of something even they aren't sure they completely believe. I see some old guy on T.V. making speeches about how great India/Indian culture is, and to me it only translates as "Indian culture is great....... right?"

Oh hi there. Always room for more potatoes in this thread.
Designating a very specific look to a country with more than two thousand ethnic groups is as potato as you can get. Most girls here are immediately identifiable as Indian if you have any knowledge of Indian ethnicities at all, rather than a preconceived image based off nothing but anecdotes and a misrepresentation of Indians in your culture's media.
