I'm coming closer and closer to just getting the PowerBlock Sport Bench, it's just that it didn't feel very stable when I tried it out in the store.
I don't like the newer powerblock benches, not stable enough, the older welded one was alot better, which is why I hate the newer precor super bench vs the older Icarian super bench. That bench in the ad looks exactly like the build of an older tuff stuff adjustable bench.

I would say so, there's either two things that come to mind either a very old version or tag came off and was replaced with that "hammer" tag. I can assume that it's a hammer strength by that red "Stay Clear" warning. Just the "build" bothers me.

Isn't the hammer strengths leg press based off of the nautilus one? Maybe it's a nautilus?

What is the going rate for used standard plates? I need some for my lat machine and found this on CL. I don't need all of that weight but he would let it go for $125, so I was wondering if I could flip it for a little profit.

    4-25lb
    16-10lb
    24-5lb
    10-2.5lb plates in good condition..
About 505 lb all together. Plus 3 bars 15 lb each. And Dbells 2.5 lb each.

if you want a good quality adjustable bench (i.e. commercial) then your best bet is to buy a flat bench now and keep looking for a used commercial one. then you don't have to settle

Like those. I've been considering the ones below for my reverse hyper, mainly because they appear to be metal and have a flange on them already. I believe the Bodysolid ones are nylon or similar material. Either of them probably work well enough on something like a lat machine.

I'm pretty sure that brand is sold under Again Faster's website. Why would you want a training bar? They're OK bars.

i have no need for a training bar, but maybe my wife would? doubt it. more curious about the brand.

there's a few good barbells (not this one) that've been up in my market...can't justify any of them though, sadly

Thanks, you're right. I would have preferred to just have one bench as I have limited space in my townhouse garage, but I may have to go with just flat for now.

i never thought i'd end up with a commercial bench in my basement and now i have 2. you have to keep looking, know what you're looking for, and be ready to jump on a deal when it appears.

FWIW it'd be nice sometimes to have a flat one as well as an adjustable so that you can work in 2 stations, or so you don't have to move around the heavier bench all the time

I sell standard sets at 0.50lb including the bars. 10lb non branded or cap plates I tend to keep for pro style dumbbell making.

while i do agree with having 2 benches, still cant understand why not having 2 good adjustable benches vs one adjustable and one flat...

I have yet to try an adjustable bench that is as comfortable as a commercial flat.

If I had to choose, I'd rather have a commercial flat bench and a home use adjustable, than the alternative

So this Tuff Stuff FID bench popped up on Kijiji today. Decided to jump on it and picked it up for $70 USD.

While I have 6 commercial adjustable benches....in counting....I do understand it would be nice to have a flat as well.

Here are the key point I see for a flat bench
    1.) Light Weight, easy mobility
2.) Sturdy/solid, dont have to worry of any wobble in the top padding
    3.) Pads are usually larger
4.) Height can be "alot" lower vs an adjustable
