Good logic. Stay away from a dedicated 5.56 can unless you have every other caliber covered. I have all centerfire calibers covered with the SDN6 except big bore like .50 cals and .338.
I have all pistol calibers covered and all rimfire calibers covered as well. All with 3 cans. Only thing lacking is big bore and shotguns. (Lulz)
If I get more cans, it'll probably be a dedicated 9mm and an extra .22 can or two. THEN maybe a 5.56 dedicated. Maybe.

You have to be extremely careful when shooting HK pistols. If you don't control the recoil perfectly, you wind up hitting the mag release. They are 10/10 ergonomically, but I would much rather have my Glock in a self defense situation.

Funny story. I bought a metric chit ton of Red Army steel cased when I first got my AK but traded it to a local gun shop because I was unaware that steel cased isn't allowed at indoor ranges. There are no outdoor ranges where I live that aren't 2+ hours away and I have no land so it's pointless to buy.
I do have a friend that just moved and literally has acres but he lives with his dad so it'll be at his discretion if I can fire my firearms there. If so I'm buying tons of Red Army and Tula for my AK and Wolf for my AR*MFC*

Been seeing alot of people talking about converted saigas on here. Maybe I need to look into them more, just went with NPAP to start since a gun shop close to me has them. The only thing they have as far as a Saiga goes is:

It was my understanding that the companies are the ones that do the conversions usually though. Is that not the case?

I wouldn't pay that for it. Prices may have went up but it looks more like Bud's is just upping the price since availability is low. The other store I go to as well hasn't had them in stock in a while but the last price they had was between $450-500. Roughly how much would you say the conversion ran you?

This.
It's not really an issue at the range, but I wouldn't count on myself having perfect form in an emergency situation.
Edit: It happen if you don't perfectly control the recoil. If the muzzle flips up (even slightly), the mag release can hit the trigger finger. I've learned to control it, but it took a few months of regular practice. I should also note that my HK45 was my first handgun. I don't think it would happen now, but I'd still rather have one of my other guns in a self defense situation.Last edited by gharlow; 06-06-2014 at 08:14 AM.

Depends on caliber and what you convert with. Tbh, I didnt add up the costs for my Saiga-12 conversion. Rather not know.
All imports typically have roller coaster prices because huge shipments come in at once, dry up, and repeat.
$475 would be my top dollar for unconverted.

lol....... yes. They're very real. Google Fiber is nice. Their competitor is actually working on getting an 800+ Mbps fiber network running in Lawrence where I live.
edit: here's a SpeedTest screenshot from the company who's installing the fiber network in Lawrence. It's not available to the public yet, but I can't wait until it is.

I'm taking my friend to the range for the first time this Saturday. I only have an AR atm since I won't be able to comfortably afford that VEPR or underfolder for another month or two I think we can still have a good time though... I miss my AK so much and never even got the chance to shoot my 870 before selling it. F life expenses man srs. When will it be my turn for full time IT job?
I'll go over the operation of the rifle before we get there similar to what my uncle did with me and give him general safety tips. Any other suggestions?*MFC*

Kansas City actually makes perfect sense to me in terms of the Google Fiber launch. Large metropolitan area, plenty of businesses who got on board, and there's a conservative local gov't who will (for the most part) keep their nose out of your business and their hands out of your pockets. You can cheat Death a thousand times... but Death only has to win once
