17-18%? Here are a few more pics with overhead lighting. I don't think I'm over 15%.
Anyone else?

Weak, skinny fat. Curious of body fat estimate, and opinion if I should bulk or cut the fat first.(Noob lifter)

Whats your height and weight? Also I say bulk personally (with not knowing your h/w)
As for bf% I couodnt guess that. Im terrible doing that with pics, let alone my own pics. Maybe 20-21%Don't give up hope.

Id say about 20%. However I would still bulk, albeit clean bulk. A lot of that fat will actually go away initially with "noob gains". Also once you develop some more muscle, the fat won't be nearly as noticable. Plus if you cut weight now, you will end up a twig. Good luck man! Just my opinion.

Only if you have a developed six pack to begin with. Like on my pic..you can see my "4pack" along along with my belt showing....with a layer of fat, water and full stomach (just ate).when I'm.down to around 12% my abs show through really well becauae my abs and belt are pretty big and developed (almost too much if that makes sense).
People who need 10-11% or less for their abs to show more is because their abs arent as developed as much. In some cases abs won't show until less than 10% depending on ab development. Generally rule is around 10% for abs to really show, but like I said, depends. I know someone who is around 8% bodyfat and has hardly any abs. It's a flat surface basically. No development at all.Last edited by derivxinteg314; 08-10-2016 at 04:40 PM.

Hi week 9 of cut (started 5 '9.5" 148lbs, now 139lbs, literally 1lbs lost per week on 1700kcal 150g protein, 60g fat, 120g carbs) My legs are ridiculously skinny, all my fat is concentrated on the lower abdo, I probably have an inch of fat as I can feel abs under there. I think part of the problem is my lower abs are very untoned making the area look even flabbier.
As I'm stalling on lifts now and looking ridiculously skinny in clothes I am planning on recomping for a period.
Any guesses? I'm thinking 17/18%.Last edited by glybera; 08-11-2016 at 12:38 PM.

I think it's higher than 17-18. More like 20%. However this is another situation where you really need more muscular development. So I would start bulking muscle (clean bulk) asap. You can cut all you want, but if you don't have muscle to show for it, you will remain soft, no shape, or end up a stick. Usually when people are smaller and "skinny fat", I still recommend bulking and Strength training for a while before you start cutting. Start muscle building man.
Don't give up hope.
