Intro to Daily Fantasy Baseball:
Daily fantasy baseball is one day fantasy baseball contests for cash. Pick players to form a team within the salary cap and win money based on the points you receive from your players in that day's games.
Cons to Daily Fantasy Baseball:
You have to keep up with weather, roster changes and pitching match-ups.
Pros to Daily Fantasy Baseball:
Your not stuck with players you drafted at the beginning of the season and can make changes daily.

Daily Fantasy Sport sites that offer Baseball as well as other sports (Ranked 1-3)
#1 FanDuel - Largest DFS site currently - Easiest site to play on and has the weakest competition pool IMO.

************************************************** ****************************
#3- Draft Street - Great site but definitely the hardest competition pool. I would not recommend this site for beginners.
3 spots for pitchers makes this site harder for new players.
Rosters:
Daily: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, 1 U, 2 SP, 1 P (12 starters)
Weekly: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, 2 U, 3 SP, 1 RP, 2 P (16 starters)
Snake-draft leagues include 2 Reserve (RS) spots
Users are allowed a maximum of 4 hitters from any one MLB team
for scoring check out their page.
************************************************** ***********************************************
There are other DFS sites that offer Daily Fantasy Baseball but I feel the sites mentioned above are the best ones to play on right now.

Basic Daily Fantasy Strategy.
#1 Know the scoring on the site you play on. Not all stolen bases are created equal ( 2 pts on FanDuel , 5 pts on Draftkings), This is going to be the guideline on how you build your team in order to compete.
#2 Pitchers should always be your priority roster spot(s). Do not get fancy or cute with pitchers, They are the most consistent source of points which are essential to head2head games and 50/50s. You can get fancy with pitchers in tournaments with a guaranteed prize pool. Your goal in head2head games and 50/50s is to cash and build your bankroll.
#3 ALWAYS check lineups before the game starts. Players routinely get time off and you don't want to enter a game with dead roster spots.
# ALWAYS check weather for the scheduled games, Weather affects the flow of the game and can also cause a postponed game which will give the players in the game 0 pts for that game.
************************************************
Some of the strategies I use.
Check betting sites and pick players who are in games with high O/U ( over/under on runs scored)
Lean towards the hot hitters, baseball is all about slumps and hot streaks.
Lean towards hitters that play in hitter ball parks ( etc Coors Field, google hitter ball parks)
Lean towards hitters facing weak pitching.
Always pick the top 1-3 pitchers for that day based on match ups.
Go with your gut on picks.
Best thing you can do is find a strategy that suites you / your site and stick with it. Do your research and make your own decisions. You will win and you will lose, you just need to win more then you lose. Have fun.Last edited by AlexLifts; 04-10-2014 at 12:42 PM.

FanDuel Help
Best pitcher for tomorrow :
R.A. Dickey (TOR) -RHP $7,200
Astros strike out a lot, only behind the Mets who lead the league in K%.
Astros have a low OPB at .275 for the season and don't score a lot of runs.
TOR is a heavy favorite at -217 with an O/U of 8.5
Wildcard ?
NYM @ ATL 7:10pm EDT O/U 7.5
David Hale (ATL) - RHP $4,400
Mets leads MLB with 28.1 K % low OPS .265 worse offensive team in MLB. Braves favored to win -137
Am I crazy to think Hale is a good play at 4.4k ?????Last edited by AlexLifts; 04-09-2014 at 09:10 PM.

Batters to target vs weak starting pitchers :
Randall Delgado vs Giants :
Delgado is a candidate to lose his spot in the starting rotation.
4 innings pitched , 13.50 ERA 10 hits / 1 HR with only 3ks VS the Rockies last game.
Giants are pretty much neck and neck with the Rockies offensively except they strike out more (21%K to 14%K)
2013 stats :
2.15 HR/9 vs RHB
.330 LHB wOba
.349 RHB wOBA
Giant stack looks nice against Delgado. O/U should be higher this game.
Dallas Keuchel VS TOR:
2013 stats : .328 wOBA LHB .363 RHB
10 k/9 vs LHB
6 k/9 vs RHB
Last game 5.0 IP 7.50 ERA 8 hits , 1 HR, 5k VS Angels.
Jose Bautista,Melky Cabrera, Edwin Encarnacion have small but good BVP numbers against Keuchel. Encarnacion hits first HR tomorrow.✰ MISC RUNNING CREW ✰

Great thread. I actually just signed up for Fanduel today and placed in my first play (a 50/50 league). Won $3.60 on a $2 entry. Mirin? (not srs)
Today I learned that it's best to choose to play on days that have a small range of game times. The lineups lock before the first pitch on the first game. If the first pitch of the first game is at 12 PM Pacific, you may be screwed if Hanley Ramirez is benched for his 7 PM game but you don't find out until 6 PM.Last edited by Howiester; 04-09-2014 at 10:58 PM.

I like to break it down between early games and late games. It's good to have multiple roster spots in mind in case that team's lineup does not come out before Fanduel's roster lock.
BvP is not completely useless if you have a decent sample size of 25 ABs or more IMO. See Goldschmidt BvP against Lincecum and Goldy hit another HR yesterday.
Try playing a H2H game. Before you choose your H2H go and click next to the person's name and see if they have a large amount of wins. Target the players who do not or target the players who have more wins in other sports ETC basketball or football.✰ MISC RUNNING CREW ✰

actually, what i've found works best and what one of the top GPP players has found is that getting your batters that you love then picking the best pitching options that are available for the salary you have left is the way to go.
Seems like every time I pick my pitchers first and then batters, it backfires, a pitcher busts and then my batters aren't able to pick up the slack since they're subpar.

GPP might be different, I really only play H2H and pitching is always my first priority.
Can anyone give me feedback on Hale ?

Read up, I gave some examples.
Gerrit Cole is going to be another good one for today but the Pirates are not big favorites to win and a W is 5 points.
Stephen Strasburg is ranked high by Notorious today. The Marlins got me good yesterday and it as mostly due to Zimmermanns ****ty day with his location but the Marlins are a scrappy team. Yelich and Hechavarria are hitting well and Stanton is always a HR threat.
I would probably go Strasburg in early games just because I think they beat the Marlins and he will have at least 7ks. But I'm not playing early today.
dailybaseballdata is good but the BvP lineups are outdated, still have ARod on the Yanks roster. Rotogrinders is probably the best site.
Like Butcher15 said, pick guys that bat 1-5 in the lineup.Last edited by AlexLifts; 04-10-2014 at 09:57 AM.

Disagree for the most part with deerdiary on BvP.
If a guy is 2-4 with a HR or 1-7 with no counting stats vs. a certain pitcher, then due to the sample size, there isn't much merit in chasing (or fading) those players based on their BvP stats.
However, if player X is known to be a lefty/righty killer (think platoon-type player), and it just so happens that he is 11-35 with 3 HR vs. the pitcher (of that dexterity) that he's facing, then I'm probably playing that guy.
Player X was Paul Goldschmidt last night. (With MUCH better BvP stats then the example I used above)
Player X is Ryan Raburn tonight. (With the EXACT same BvP stats I used above).

Goldschidt vs Matt Cain RHP who had an oWBA of .307 vs RHB last season.
AB 29, Hits 8, 9 SO, 5 RBIS, 1 HR
Goldy against Lincecum who had an oWBA of .329 vs RHB last season.
AB 24 , Hits 13 , 5 SO, 17 RBIS , 7 HRS
Both are RHP and Goldy has more Ks against Cain then Hits.
I think players know who they are good against and that favors their matchup.✰ MISC RUNNING CREW ✰

Here's the lineup tonight fellas.
Took mejia just because i feel like he's a great strikeout pitcher, and is only facing two lefties (Heyward, Freeman) even though they're both amazing, i'm still semi confident.
Then Basically i filled my lineup up with SF Players because Delgado loves to serve up dingers, took everyone's advice on raburn, and then just plugged in stars like Joey Bats and BraunRed Sox 2018 MLB champs
Tommy 12 inch crew
Nikola Jokic, Montrezl truther
DRuss gonna be an all-star in BKNY crew
Jaylen, Jayson (7/11) Crew

04/11/2014 Late Games only on FD
Pitchers:
King Felix Hernandez @ 9.7k. High price but he is worth the tag The O/U of this game is at 6.5. Interesting enough he had a equal spit of .66 HR/9 innings last year but he has given up a HR in each of his 2 starts.
I also like Rick Porcello vs the Padres @ 6.2k , Porcelos k range is about 8 per game against RHB( .265 wOBA last year)
Cashner is pitching for the Padres and this game has an O/U of 6.5 and the Padres are favored -110 !!!!! Looking like a pitchers duel.
Fun Fact for tomorrow : De La Rosa did not give up a HR to a LHB last YEAR !!! (faced 135 LHB 0 HRS) and only had a .74 HR/9 IN against RHB. In other words the numbers suggest you don't go for the HR or Bust type Giant players tomorrow.
All of the home teams are favored to win except for the DBacks.
DET @ SD-109 6.5 O/U
NYM @ LAA -160 8 O/U
CO @ SF -170 7 O/U
OAK @ SEA -170 O/U 6.5
LAD-125 @ ARI O/U 8.5
will update tomorrow.Last edited by AlexLifts; 04-11-2014 at 09:47 AM.
