    Does knee wrap lenght make a difference in single ply pl?

    I'll order knee wraps this week. I'll probably get Inzer Z. I was wondering if there's a significant difference between 2.0 and 2.5 meter wraps in terms of strength; although, if it's complicated to tighten the longer ones on my own, I'll just get the shorter ones. As you can judge by my avi, I have a lean build (that's a pic at 145lbs!! back in my bodybuilding days), so maybe I just need the short ones if you think it's appropriate (I'm assuming the longer ones are for thick/big Powerlifters, but I could be wrong).

    I want to get familiar with both squat stances, wide and narrow while using knee wraps before I order a suit.

    The main reason why I want to compete in the single ply is because I think it would be easier to wear during training than multi ply, and I'm usually alone at the gym at 6:00am (except on Saturdays), so I won't have buddies around to help me get in my suit to practice.

    Currently, I use VS. Weightlifting shoes to squat high-bar, ATG; obviously that will have to change since I'll start doing low-bar wide and narrow to see how comfortable I feel. I'll probably wear my old chucks instead of my weightlifting shoes which have a heel. Do you think I should get powerlifting shoes or just use plain sole shoes for squatting?

    If you want to get srs weight from ur suit you should stand wide. And you can't get on a tight single ply suit by yourself. I needed 2 ppl to get on my deadlift suit and that one is not extremly tight.

    And since I live in the USA, I might stick to the rules of the most common federation. I'll have to scout my area to see which feds organizes events nearby.

    If youre gonna use suits you gotta train with others who compete equipped. It wont work by yourself. Train raw until you can find a PL club

    unnecessary for most suits, but can certainly help when breaking one in.

    Hmm, the best raws I did while dieting for bodybuilding were:

    @165 lbs.
    Narrow Sq: 335
    Bp: 200 ( meh. Bodybuilding numbers)
    Conventional DL: 375.

    I'll be honest,
    I might be too old (immature?) to say this, but I used to read a Manga called Gantz, one of the appealing points was that the main characters would wear spandex looking suits in order to get ripped and achieve super human strength. That's why I wanted to do single ply (hey, at least I'm honest!)

    Of course, if it's difficult to get into a squat suit to practice, I'll just grow up a pair of balls and compete raw, lol

    Fyi, I go to a powerlifting gym, so the people there could help me adapt to single ply. They arent there at 6 am during the week though.
