    Can you deadlift and squat on the same day/week?

    should i deadlift on the same day i squat or the day before i squat when i work on my back/biceps? or should i alternate between squating and deadlifting?

    well 5x5 programs and rippetoes all have squating and deadlifting on the same day...so in other words I guess you can.

    Assuming you are doing low volume spread out through the week, yes.

    Yes, you can deadlift and squat on the same day. However, you will need to manipulate the insensity and rep/set schemes to take into consideration increased frequency and fatigue.

    For instance, if you work up to a 3-5 reps above 90% 1RM for deadlift, then I would NOT recommend doing the same sorta intensity for squats on the same day (or even the same week, but that will depend on your experience level). Rather, do some rep work for squats. Something like 4 x 4-6. Vice a versa for squatting heavy and doing deadlifts on the same day.

    Another option (using the above deadlift example) is to use some other squat movement, such as box squats or front squats.

    Doing them on the same day is probably a better decision than doing them on consecutive days...
