Surprise surprise. Good that they're changing up the official version, it's never good to demonize a nutrient, I agree some kind of fat may be less healthy than others but this "fat = bad" attitude makes people think they can't eat fat at all...

fat in food is used by the body to deliver important nutrients, a good example is standard milk vs trim milk. Trim has less calories but fat milk is healthier and delivers important acids and vitamins.

It's a step in the right direction, but they still don't seem to get the fact that the excess calories which lead to the obesity is the real problem.

It's like they can't see the forest for the trees.

Agreed it's good the medias are catching up.
There seems to be a trend as of lately as to correct this problem

The problem is that many too many "nutritionists" still advocate low fat diets

Hopefully, more and more researcher will help and break the dogma, like the following:
The cardiometabolic consequences of replacing saturated fats with carbohydrates or Ω-6 polyunsaturated fats: Do the dietary guidelines have it wrong?

The mainstream media doesnt get that excess calorie makes you fat because there is no money to be made from it. How are companies gonna make new funky workout equipements, new magic pills? I love how on some shows, a "doctor" tries to give advice to an obese or overweigt person to lose weight but doesnt mention a single thing about calories.
